This man flatly refused to leave the ECHR when he had a Home Secretary telling him that it was the way to stop the boats. He’s a fraud, a liar and a duplicitous coward. Read my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’ to find out how Rishi refused to do whatever it takes to stop the boats and failed the nation in the process.
The small boats crisis has gone on longer than WWII. I will always regret that I could not solve it. We have to show people the journey is pointless. Rwanda was criticised as a fantasy, but the real fantasy is thinking you can stop the boats without it. For some time I had said that if forced to choose between membership of the ECHR and our national and border security, I would pick the latter. During my tenure, attempting to leave the ECHR with only two years left in the parliament and with no mandate to do so would have been a recipe for constitutional chaos. You couldn't resolve all the issues thrown up by leaving in 24 months with a fractious parliamentary party, a sceptical House of Lords and limited diplomatic capital. Other countries can read our opinion polls. With the help of KCs, we'd done extensive work on leaving. The plan was to say in the election campaign that we'd seek radical reform of the convention and the court, and leave if that could not be achieved quickly. Like so many things in that campaign, it didn't go to plan, and we dropped the idea after Nigel Farage entered the race, for fear it would be dismissed as a panic move and make it harder to focus the election on tax and the economy. With a mandate, a majority and a five-year term, it would be very different, and worth doing. My Sunday Times column today looks at how 👇 thetimes.com/comment/columni…

Dear Andy Burnham, the Oxford Internet Institute examined social media after the Brexit vote. Their conclusion was that Russian traffic made up around a one thousandth of just one percent of Brexit traffic. Thus, I suspect you're lying; so put up your evidence or shut up.

As someone who campaigned stronglyfor us to Leave and had been calling for a referendum for years I find this utterly ridiculous. This is a real attack on decent people all over the country who were absolutely fed up with the UK being subject to the anti democratic EU Commission telling us what to do National borders matter and UK unable to make our own decisions with genuine sovereignty was why I campaigned to Leave. This is a huge insult to millions of British people who certainly were not influenced in their note by ANYONE from Russia. Deliberate lies and disappointing that the Prime Minister has stooped so low All part of trying to get us back in but the British people are not stupid !

🚨I can reveal there was crucial disinformation injected into Andy Burnham’s Makerfield election campaign. He told the voters of Makerfield (who overwhelmingly voted for Brexit), that he would not "re-run" Brexit arguments. That he was NOT proposing the UK considers rejoining the EU. Having won that election on that basis, he is now doing the very thing he promised not to do. So @andyburnham, is this also “Russian interference”, or are you just a self-serving liar?

The only significant interference in the EU referendum was Remoaners like @EdwardJDavey @Keir_Starmer @campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK et al spending 3 years after 2016 trying to prevent the biggest democratic vote in British history from being enacted.
I’m not going to agree with Andy Burnham on everything, but this statement needed to be said by a Prime Minister. After the Conservatives suppressed the truth for years, this took courage.

Astonishing ignorance. Unlike other fortifications there is no claim to be replacing losses from milling. The dose is far too high for that. The claim is that it will act as a drug with a medicinal benefit for a tiny number.
A new type of stupid to join the flat earthers. Folic acid is added to flour to replace that destroyed in milling. There is good evidence it reduces the incidence of some types of serious deformities in foetuses and it is good for the rest of us. Robert Lowe is an idiot.

As with the Bovaer fiasco, a lot of good is already coming out of the folic acid in flour fiasco. People discovering small producers who have quietly been doing the right thing for years. Look at this. "INGREDIENTS: FLOUR". As it should be. 👏 Well done, stoatesflour.co.uk/

I do not believe that the Government should be adding folic acid to our bread. Food should be as natural as possible. That is not a controversial position. We are now in the absurd situation where politicians think they should decide what goes into the everyday food of millions of British people. There is an important difference between recommending a supplement to those who need it and making its addition compulsory in a staple food consumed by the entire population. Education and targeted supplementation is the answer. Why must the solution always be another blanket government intervention for tens of millions of people? People should be able to buy ordinary bread without having unnecessary products forced in by the state. Clear labelling. Informed choice. Targeted healthcare. That simple - that's the Restore Britain position. Keep our food as natural as possible, and let the British public decide what they eat. I will make that argument in Parliament following the successful petition. Leave the sodding bread alone.

The gas isn't nearly as insecure as electricity. There's really no credible running out of gas scenario this winter - the risks grow due to the accelerated run-down of UKCS production You should be able far more concerned about electricity shortages in low wind conditions. This year we have had EMNs in the summer and now the shoulder months when demand is still low @neso_energy is rubbish at forecasting wind and demand, it relies heavily on imports that cannot be compelled and 25% of Capacity Market contracts go to interconnectors and unproven demand-side response, technologies that cannot be guaranteed to deliver when we have a shortfall Stop buying into anti-gas propaganda and start to look at the fundamentals. This winter we can increase LNG imports and reduce piped gas exports if needed... GB has exported over the pipes to Europe almost constantly since summer 2021. We used to import over these pipes in winter but there were zero imports in 2022 and 2023 and minimal imports in 2024 and 2025. Mostly we export We also support the Irish gas market with significant volumes of both gas and electricity With Europe short of gas and Norway and Sweden short of water, European electricity markets could be very tight in winter. On low wind days it's generally cold so demand ramps while generation falls Look at all the margin warnings we've had this year in electricity and all the times frequency has been outside operational limits and then look at how many gas margin warnings there have been (clue, there haven't been any) Gas is fine, for this winter at least. Electricity is not

🚨FLOUR GETS A PRESCRIPTION, AND THE PUBLIC IS SIGNING UP TO SAY NO Ministers are weeks from making synthetic folic acid a legal ingredient in non-wholemeal wheat flour, the base of most of the bread, biscuits and batter this country actually eats. The rule lands in December 2026 and is sold as preventing about 200 neural-tube defects a year. A petition to scrap it, opened by pathologist Dr Clare Craig, is already past 95,000 signatures and closing on the 100,000 that forces MPs to debate it. Call it public health if you like. It is still the state dosing the national loaf because women of childbearing age do not reliably take the 400-microgram tablet the NHS has recommended for years, and because almost half of pregnancies are unplanned. Everyone else gets the same flour, including people the NHS already tells to be careful with folic acid. Wholemeal is spared, labels will admit it, and tiny mills get a pass. That is not consent. That is a government that found your breakfast easier to medicate than your habits were to change. petition.parliament.uk/petit…

The Bank of England is clearly compromised by Fabian Marxists. This is an absolute disgrace. The Governor should go.
The Bank of England DELIBERATELY FIXED the fake "public vote" to remove ALL historical figures from bank notes & replace them with nature images Freedom of Information requests by the Telegraph revealed the decision to remove historical figures was based on a "focus group" of a mere 119 people The Bank LIED because it previously claimed the decision was based on a "public vote". In truth, however, even this vote was FIXED. Instead of having HISTORY v NATURE, the bank deliberately split the "history" category into 3 sections: historical events, historical figures, architecture & landmarks. That was the only way that "nature" could win. However, of course bank notes always combine at least two of those history categories. For example: Churchill & Parliament or Wellington & Waterloo. The Bank's actions are indefensible and questions should be asked in the House. The Bank of England has clearly been captured by progressive woke ideology. A visit to the Bank of England with its permanent exhibition on slavery makes that clear This is part of the wider war on British history. It's an attempt to create a NEW BRITAIN, based on ridiculous myths that "Diversity Built Britain" and that Britain has always been multicultural. Remember: the Bank of England issued a 50p coin (held aloft by Rishi Sunak) which was imprinted with the nonsensical statement: "Diversity Built Britain" Anyone who lived behind the Iron Curtain will find all of this eerily and scarily familiar. The pulling down of statues, the renaming of streets and schools, the rewriting of history, denigrating heroes, changing bank notes etc....these were all tactics of the communists. Severing the connection between a people and their history is the best way to demoralise a society and prepare them for the imposition of new myths. Me on @GBNews:

We really need to educate the MPs. Folic acid is not a vitamin and not a natural folate. The efficacy claims might be true for high risk women but the evidence base is not there for ordinary women. There has never been a safety trial yet the safety signals have mounted up.
Now forced folic acid is to be debated in Parliament here’s what to look forward to: Folate being conflated with folic acid; incorrect assumptions being made about its efficacy and false claims being made about its harms. Nothing will be done.
