“Brady was a good player for us who played hard for most of his time in Ottawa. He also isn’t a generational talent who left. If we want to debate the future of the Sens, it starts with being honest about what Brady was, what he will likely be, and what his time in Ottawa meant”

Most counties are gaining on 2024 as the day goes on, but here’s the 11am data Hays randomly opens at 9am so it’s only at 20% of its voting day, everyone else is 33%!

You can tell that kid at the townhall was a plant because Rogers had talking points and media hits designed to use AES's response as a talking point. When Abdul immediately disavowed the Muslim Brotherhood, Rogers and his team have to just pretend like that didn't happen.
Rogers: He didn’t disavow the Muslim Brotherhood Bash: He said, 'Sure, yeah.' Rogers: No, that’s not true. I don’t know why the press is so eager to protect this guy

florida being the first big state we get on election night is so awesome. if it goes good, we can expect the rest of the night to be just as good if not better. if it goes bad, we can reasonably come to a conclusion its because its florida

I reached out to Michigan Senate candidates Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers for their thoughts on the Detroit Red Wings. Here's what they had to say: octopusthrower.com/what-each…

More fake news from republicans trying to push a narrative using random one off polls
Seems to be a pattern of generic ballot tightening. Republicans are coming home to roost, at least for house races.

DHS raiding a member of congress's home to search for immigration paperwork filled out decades ago by her now-deceased father really checks all the fascist police state boxes.

NEW: We obtained the full six minute audio of the Lindner recording. The employee there repeatedly denied anyone named “James Talarico” was in her system at all. Only towards the end did she say someone had checked out that day. via @willsommer thebulwark.com/p/maga-james-…

Right-wing scam accounts desperately trying to invent this Talarico hoax story definitely makes me think the real internal polling is HORRIFIC for Paxton. This shit is so desperate.

my mom repeatedly asked to come out in my baby’s first month because she “wanted the experience of holding a grandchild when they were that small.” she also floated being in the delivery room because she “thought it would interesting to see someone give birth.” the frame was “what can i get out of this?” no consideration of what might be helpful or desirable by me. i think somehow a lot of boomers got this idea about grandkids? they see grandkids as a prize, pure upside with zero responsibility. it’s a total abdication of their ongoing parental responsibility to their own children.
It's fascinating that many Boomer grandparents seem to want to be more involved in their kids/grandkids lives—but only insofar as they are the ones being entertained and catered to. I saw a post from a grandmother who moved away from her son and his young family. She felt they weren't spending enough time with her to justify living close, so she moved away and now spends her time traveling. Many grandparents in the comments also lamented that their adult children are "too busy" for them, and that they never get invited to stuff. That their children don't "make time" for them. I found this so interesting, because these are largely the same people who insist they shouldn't have to be "babysitters" (hot take: it's not babysitting to watch your own grandkids). So instead of recognizing that their adult children are busy, and offering to help ease their burden by watching the kids and coming over and help clean or cook, they just huff that they aren't being entertained by their busy working children whom they refuse to help (by spending time with their own grandkids). Incredible stuff.

My final Quebec preview - how we got there, how badly the CAQ will be defeated, why the Liberals had a bad campaign but will trick themselves into being happy, and why the Duhaime surge is making a PQ majority less likely - and why there’ll be an anti-referendum majority
“I think it’ll be a PQ minority without a majority for a referendum. But I don’t know. And that’s why Monday represents a dividing line in our history - an opportunity to reject division and economic vandalism in the name of solving problems Quebec faces. Please fucking take it”
