I think my biggest issue with gaming discourse these days is that every just hates everything. There’s no nuance. There’s no actual discussion. It’s just me right, you wrong. We can’t say “Hey this game is okay, has great moments with a few flaws” anymore. I hate it

“Why does the villain always get redeemed?” “This conflict is stupid no one acts like this in real life” “Why is every situation so black and white where’s the nuance?” The nuance is in Better Call Saul and Severance. Stop looking for it in miraculous ladybug
Genocide denial is not “nuance.” It should be an immediate disqualification from public office.
Gavin Newsom still refuses to call what happened in Gaza—more than 73,000 Palestinians killed by Israel since Hamas attacked and killed 1,200 and abducted 251 hostages on October 7, 2023—a genocide, even when he is pushed on it repeatedly. “I’m not able to objectively conclude that,” he tells VF. “Were there war crimes? Crystal clear...but I’ll leave that to the courts in more objective lines because it relates to the pure definition.”
It’s a Newsomian reflex: Refuse the label, keep both audiences half satisfied, and let the ambiguity do the political work a position never will. “Nuance,” he says. “Nuance.”

Real rape cases aren't even ruining mens lives.

don't like how men are calling that dressmaker game girlslop. it reminds me of the massive amount of men who made commentary vids on the infinity nikki situation back then. like infold 100% fumbled but it only got so much traction bc ppl love to mock women's interests

there is an openly bi guy where I work, and if anyone ever told him to stop identifying as a bear because he is also attracted to women sometimes he would probably laugh at their face.

my hatred for hoyoverse began when i saw that they based a character off of a nigerian (specifically yoruba) deity named olorun and they whitewashed him. i’m nigerian and, while i’m not yoruba, it was still so insulting to me. then i learned about their history of racism.

I did, and then he responded exactly like I knew he was going to, because the question was never asked in good faith, it was a dipshit attempt at a gotcha

The thing is I just don't have an objective answer to that question, but lacking an objective answer to "why care about other people?" hasn't really stopped me from doing it

I can keep an open mind and be respectful of other points of view, but what I can't stand is people who ignore everything you're saying just to drop some smug stupid cliche on you

So, apparently, the Cornell r*pists have tried to dox Jane Doe, but can't remember her. Do you realize what that says? If they can't remember which victim she was?
How many were there?
HOW. MANY. WERE. THERE?!

You can simultaneously be completely 100% "objectively" in the right *and* a huge asshole at the same time, because you can't meaningfully talk about morality or the impact of your actions on other people without taking into account a point of view
