I-5 is the most critical freight corridor on the West Coast. The new multimodal, earthquake-resilient Interstate Bridge will improve regional freight movement efficiency, support national commerce and meet the needs of a rapidly growing region.

Bridge lifts have always stopped traffic on the Interstate Bridge. The new fixed-span Interstate Bridge will eliminate bridge lifts, allowing vehicles and transit to operate unimpeded while also continuing to serve river users.
