JUST IN: Danielle Smith breaks down the cost of a Temporary Foreign Worker family earning $60K/yr:
>$4K provincial income tax paid
> $26K to educate two kids
>$20K in family healthcare
Net cost to Alberta taxpayers: $42K/year.
The COST TAXPAYERS $11.5 in services for EVERY $1 they generate in tax revenue.
Tax payers subsize them so corporations can get cheap labour.
Alberta has roughly 260,000 non-permanent residents.
No wonder these questions will be on the ballot for Albertans in October.
This is not sustainable.

🚨 THIS STAT IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE 🚨
Career record when recording a double-double:
Caitlin Clark: 30-1 🤯
Angel Reese: 46-55😂😂
One player’s double-doubles have basically meant GAME OVER
The other’s haven’t even meant WINNING BASKETBALL 🤡🤡🤡
30-1 is absolutely ridiculous.

Replying to @EdmontonOilers
@EdmontonOilers Kyle Rehman with the screw job on the Oilers last night. 9:00 of the 1st misses hook on 93, @Canes go down and score. Then with 0:38 to go in the 2nd calls a weak interference on 97. Another missed cross check on 29 at 15:15 of the 3rd.

James Van Der Beek’s final message to the world is one of the most powerful things I have ever heard. Stop whatever you are doing and listen to this! 🥺
PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOUR TOWN KEEPS RAISING TAXES - Here is what may get their attention.😂😂
A town keeps raising taxes, so a resident shows up to speak, wearing an English lord’s wig. Instead of protesting, he sarcastically supports the increases and says, “If you can’t pay your taxes… don’t be poor.”
Why? Because the people raising the taxes don’t live like the people paying them. The town administrator, Todd Selig, has never been elected, has held his appointed job for 17 years, and makes over $300,000 a year with THREE months of paid vacation.
And if you watch these meetings, you know the pattern. Regular people come up looking for answers, maybe a little dialogue. The administrators DO sit there like an aristocratic court, silent, unmoved, barely looking up. No response. No engagement. Just a posture that says, your problems aren’t my problems… so why are you here?
The wig wasn’t the problem. The disconnect was.

Jason Kenney is bang on here
"This is a federal exclusive federal jurisdiction upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court of Canada."
"So I would say to Mr. Eby, do you believe in the constitution and the rule of law or not? And are you on Team Canada or not?"
"Every poll I've seen in the last year indicates significant majority of British Columbians support this."
"And by the way, on First Nations, I don't buy the notion that there's widespread opposition when that was actually tested on the Trans Mountain expansion, the Supreme Court upheld a trial court finding that 111 of 119 Indigenous communities that had some putative interest were either supportive or neutral and ultimately got built, as you saw, with very limited actual resistance."
"...Because if only the Canadian industry is having to pay for tens of billions of dollars of carbon sequestration infrastructure and their competitors from Saudi Arabia to Russia to Texas are not, then we're at a huge global disadvantage."

Here is the 22 Minutes segment where David Critch & François-Philippe Champagne sit down and have a beer loosely discussing the budget. I actually have to give Critch credit, he used humor & quick quips to actually address the failures of this budget.

Over the last few years, more than 60 per cent of roughly $1 billion in contracts annually intended to boost Indigenous entrepreneurs and their communities have stayed in the capital.
Provinces with large Indigenous populations, including Manitoba, B.C., Saskatchewan and Alberta, are largely shut out, according to an IJF analysis of federal data.

The reason I create my own spreadheads, is because it allows me to have a historical record.
You see, our government never provides historical data, just forward-looking forecasts, which makes it hard to visualize trends. To me, trends are everything.
Here is the core economic data used by the PBO for all his calculations and forecasts.
He's basically predicting some very agressive growth in the coming years, with a GDP climbing by roughly 1.5% annually, inflation below 2% and the Bank of Canada's interest rate below 3%. (note: maybe wait a year before buying that house).
What's really interesting is that a super important input in all the calculations is the price of oil (WTI in $US). Now why would that be? Don't answer, I'm being sarcastic. Oil is the #1 commodity that we produce, and it's a cornerstone of our economy.
