It will be rocky after the strike. Many will argue it's *because* of the strike. But the strike was the result of worsening conditions, not the cause. Hold together, and don't blame the Guild for hard times. That pain was necessary for a good contract that will benefit all of us.

The WGA reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. Today, our Negotiating Committee, WGAW Board, and WGAE Council all voted unanimously to recommend the agreement. The strike ends at 12:01 am. Check out our deal at wgacontract2023.org/deal. #WGAStrong

Just to be clear, on May 1 the companies were offering us $250 million for the 3 year contract. Five months later, we ended up at $700 million. That's nearly HALF A BILLION $ more in writers pockets. And these strike gains don't go away. So that's even more over time. #wgastrong

A warning: there is a tendency of some clickbait journalists to move the goalposts on a WGA win. If Management gave us something, then of course they were always going to give it. But of course that’s a lie. The same Clickbait journalists insisted that the WGA would never win.

Agents, executives, and the AMPTP are in the most bubble of bubbles. The current rumor-du-jour is that the WGA is in chaos, and that they’re soft-pickings for the current negotiations. Oh my god, wake up, executive. You need to stop fucking this up. Trust me. You’re not on top.

This bears repeating over and over and over. I’ve heard from 3 executive friends that the WGA had never countered to the AMPTPs offer. That the WGA negotiating committee is in over their heads. So you have to repeat this timeline as often as necessary so it eventually sinks in.
