So I and one of my senior colleague went to personally serve a tenant at a shop quit notice. The shop is a big photocopy shop.
On arrival, I kept the most upright face because it was my first time personally going to serve a quit notice.
As I gave one of the sales rep.......

I did. To be fair, it was 18 days, but yes. I did it. 18 days in NYSC Camp, Asaya, Kogi State, and I did not use the toilet once. How did I achieve that? I restricted myself to 2 sachets of minie-me chinchin per day. That's all I ate for 3 weeks.

I resigned on Friday.
Daniel called me into his office.
“You’re throwing away five years over a salary disagreement?”
“No. I’m leaving because five years of results apparently count for less than eight months of friendship.”
He rolled his eyes.
“Fine. We’ll replace you.”
I handed over my resignation letter and spent my notice period documenting my responsibilities properly.
I didn’t delete files.
I didn’t sabotage projects.
I didn’t take confidential information.
I simply stopped volunteering for work outside my role and focused on completing a professional handover.
On my final day, Daniel barely looked up when I returned my laptop.
“Good luck out there,” he said.
I thanked him and left.
The following Monday, I started at a smaller company with a salary of $7,800 a month.
My new director had hired me after seeing the results I’d delivered on a joint project with one of our suppliers.
For the first time in years, I didn’t have to convince someone that my work had value.
Meanwhile, at my old company, things began falling apart.
Mark missed a critical client meeting because he hadn’t read the project brief.
He approved a delivery schedule that the supplier couldn’t meet.
Then he promised the client a feature that the technical team hadn’t even agreed to build.
The client requested an urgent meeting with Daniel.
Their first question was simple.
“Where is the person who used to manage this project?”
Daniel explained that I’d resigned.
The client wasn’t impressed.
“We’ve worked with her for three years. She understood our business, anticipated problems, and never made promises she couldn’t keep.”
Daniel assured them that Mark was fully capable.
They gave him one month to prove it.
On day eleven, Mark sent the client an update containing the wrong financial figures.
The client suspended the next payment until the discrepancies were explained.
That’s when Daniel called me.
I watched my old manager’s name appear on my phone.
I let it ring.
He called again.
Then came the text:
We need to talk urgently. The client is asking for you.
I replied:
Please contact the person currently responsible for the project.
He sent back:
You know how important this account is. Don’t let a personal disagreement damage the company.
I stared at the message for a long time.
Then I put my phone away.
Because for five years, I’d been expected to treat the company’s problems as my personal responsibility.
Now they wanted me to keep doing it without even working there.

My manager denied my $3,000 salary increase, then announced in a meeting that I was “easily replaceable.”
I smiled and congratulated the person who got the promotion instead of me.
Two weeks later, the company’s biggest client asked why I was no longer attending their meetings.
Nobody knew what to say.
I’d worked at that company for five years as a project coordinator. I knew every major client, every deadline, every supplier who needed chasing, and every problem management preferred to pretend didn’t exist.
When our biggest client threatened to cancel a $2.4 million contract, I spent three weekends fixing the project.
I didn’t ask for overtime.
I didn’t complain.
I just got it done.
So when my annual review came around, I asked for a raise from $4,500 to $7,500 a month.
My manager, Daniel, laughed.
“That’s a massive increase. You’re a coordinator, not a director.”
I showed him the performance reports, the client feedback, and the money I’d helped the company save.
He barely looked at them.
“We appreciate your hard work, but we have to be realistic.”
Three days later, he promoted his friend, Mark, to senior project manager.
Mark’s salary? $9,200 a month.
He’d joined the company eight months earlier.
I asked Daniel why.
He said, “Mark has leadership potential. You tend to focus too much on the details.”
I nodded.
Then he made the mistake that changed everything.
During the Monday meeting, he announced Mark’s promotion and joked that I should be grateful to have a job.
Everyone laughed awkwardly.
I didn’t.
I simply asked HR to confirm my remaining annual leave and notice requirements.
Daniel smiled.
“Planning a holiday?”
“No,” I said. “Planning my next move.”
He thought I was bluffing.
He had no idea what was coming.

The reason is because, my dad died on my 10th birthday. Every year after that was always sad. Till I became an adult and I made the conscious decision to never be sad on my birthday anymore. My dad was big on birthdays. I know he would always want me to be happy. So, RIP, daddy. I miss you. I love you. And I'm happy always. ☺️
One thing about @larmmy is every birthday is always better than the last
Love it sm ❤️

One sunny saturday afternoon in school.
A terrific hunger was dealing with me and my babe.
I just randomly asked her if any guy was asking her to come see him and she said yes so I told her to go see him but to make sure she collects transport fare while coming back so we can use it to eat.
She looked at me like I had gone mad but I convinced her to go.
She came back with 2k and that was what we used to eat for that day.
She went further to start gisting me on how the guy tried to kiss her but Walai even if she had kissed him I for no vex
That 2k saved my life man😭
HR checked the label.
He was right.
She said, "Please don't wear them again."
He said, "Can you show me where that's written?"
She went back to her desk and opened the policy.
It said: "No jeans on weekdays."
On Tuesday, he came in wearing corduroy.
On Wednesday, it was khaki that looked suspiciously blue.
By Thursday, three other people in the office were copying him, and HR called an emergency meeting...
My office dress code says: "No jeans on weekdays."
A new hire read it and said, "Understood."
On Monday, he walked in wearing a pair of dark blue trousers.
They looked exactly like jeans.
They had the stitching. The pockets. The faded knees.
HR asked, "Are those jeans?"
He said, "No. The label says 'denim-style
work trousers.'"...

Your wife’s body is likely not to be the same after childbirth.
If you think this will be a problem for you, marriage is not for you.

A friend opened a new restaurant yesterday.
Placed orders worth 200k as support.
I scheduled delivery for today & asked when he can deliver. He by himself said 12pm.
I made it clear I have a business meeting for same time and will delay it for 2pm so that I will be around for the delivery considering it’s his first delivery as a brand.
Time is currently 14:00(2pm) as at time of this tweet.
Zero delivery
Zero call from him to update me on delays
Zero nothing.
This.. is infact the issue and why most fail to patronize their own.
My friend spent 5 years with his girlfriend. He paid $1,800 in monthly rent, covered most of their groceries, and had already saved $12,000 for their wedding.
He genuinely thought they were building a future together.
One Friday, she told him she needed $600 to help her younger sister with an emergency.
He sent it immediately.
That same night, she claimed she was sleeping at her cousin’s house.
At 11:30 p.m., he texted her, “Hope everything is okay.”
She replied, “Yes, baby. I love you. Going to sleep now.”
The following morning, he checked his banking app and noticed another $240 charge at an expensive downtown hotel.
He assumed it was a mistake until he checked the transaction details.
The payment had been made with their shared card…

Lmfao I just remembered something, in uni, someone tried to kill himself by twisting his own neck, you know that stuff people do where they crack their necks with their hands? Exactly, but he did his own with much more force like shown in the movies: long story short he ended up rupturing his neck muscles but his cervical spine stayed intact, bro was in severe pains for months.
Today he’s an anti-suicide campaigner😭
