Jason Schreier confirms that Rockstar has been working on the GTA 6 map since 2015 (11 years).
Can’t wait to get lost in this map and explore it for years to come.
He also revealed more information:
- Developers are given the creative freedom to add new features and details, to the point where, according to Aaron Garbut, no single person on the team knows everything that’s in the game
- An Example of the creative freedom is the dynamic horse testicles affected by the weather in RDR2, which was added by a developer who had extra time
- Rockstar spent years trying to scrap and replace the weapons wheel with a new system, but they eventually kept it
- Rockstar’s Head of Publishing Jennifer Kolbe teared up after watching the Extended Look for the first time
- RDR2’s greet/antagonize system almost didn’t make it. Phil Hooker didn’t want it, then it was demonstrated to Rob Nelson who thought it was incredible
- The art production team increased from just 6 people when GTA5 launched to 65 people now

NEW GTA 6 GAMEPLAY DETAILS REVEALED:
- Jason can call Lucia to hang out in the open world
- You can kiss her and hold hands while walking
- Jason and Lucia can casually drive around and spend time together outside missions
- You can visit gyms together. Lucia used a treadmill while Jason did squats
- Banks can be scoped out before deciding whether they’re worth robbing
- Rockstar says cash is “vulnerable” and wants money to matter more than ever
- Cash can be deposited at ATMs
- Jason and Lucia can enter back rooms, disable alarms and rob businesses without alerting anyone
- Rockstar says there are HUNDREDS of smaller interiors to explore
- Salons can be visited for haircuts
- Random pedestrian encounters can escalate into fights and police calls
- The Wanted system can identify details about suspects, including that Jason and Lucia are a couple
- Splitting up and escaping separately can help avoid police
- Rockstar says playing together in free roam is “a completely new way to play GTA”
- Rockstar also spent significant time experimenting with systems like the weapon wheel

A Rockstar developer spent TWO HOURS exploring GTA 6’s open world without reaching his intended story mission:
- An NPC deliberately rammed his car after a minor accident.
- Another NPC insulted him, leading to a violent confrontation.
- He robbed a store after finding its cash register unattended.
- He escaped the police and stole a valuable car to sell.
- He followed another vehicle and discovered a criminal compound.
- He stole goods from the compound, sold them to a fence and received another tip for a new opportunity.
All of this happened during a single unscripted open-world experience.

Tom Holland has reportedly signed a massive 10-picture deal to play Spider-Man until 2040.
The deal allegedly includes four solo films and six MCU appearances. If completed, Holland would play Peter Parker for 24 years.
