Still thinking about this powerful piece of writing and performance I saw earlier 👏
It's a raw, emotive and hardhitting play portraying the reality of prison life, ongoing trauma for people inside and puts the work of @IPRT @PACE_IRL @AVP_Ireland & other colleagues into focus
Our friends @brokentalkers return to Dublin at The Ambassador Theatre from April 17 - 18.
The Examination draws on historical research and testimony from current and former prisoners as well as Willa White's own experience of incarceration and recovery.

Every year, @OIP_Ireland is required by Statute to submit its annual report to the Minister for Justice by the end of March. Yesterday, the OIP submitted its 2024 report to Minister @OCallaghanJim of @DeptJusticeIRL
This new report should be published “as soon as practicable”.

Great to be at @dcediy today for the consultation on next strategy for women and girls and hear from Minister @NormaFoleyTD1. A great opportunity to highlight the many intersectional issues @iprt sees impacting women in the criminal justice system that need to be addressed.

A quick review of just published @OIP_Ireland 2023 report lays bare the sheer scale of human rights violations and degrading treatment due to overcrowding across the prison estate. Most concerning, the information dates from 2023 before record overcrowding and conditions worsened
The Annual Report of our Office for 2023 (submitted to the previous Minister for Justice on 29 March last year) has just been published by Minister @OCallaghanJim of @DeptJusticeIRL who I had the pleasure of meeting this afternoon:
