As I said before, she misspoke and poorly used the word “Plateau”. That word was plain posturing. Course corrects now— “I hope we have a signed trade agreement with the US very soon”.

The appointment of 19 fund managers under the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund brings fresh impetus to the financing of deeptech ventures, particularly as they move from research to commercialisation. @rajattandy, President, Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (@IndianVCA), highlighted the distinct roles of government-backed funding initiatives: “These are complementary initiatives, but they address different financing needs.” As he explained, “SIDBI's Fund of Funds for Startups has played an important role in strengthening the venture capital ecosystem, while the SRI Fund focuses on providing growth capital to MSMEs.” On the financing gaps that emerge after a working prototype, @visheshrajaram, Founding Partner, @SpecialeInvest, identified three key challenges: “The first is the post-prototype scale-up phase, where companies need large cheques before revenue. The second is long-tenure capital aligned with hardware and science cycles. The third is the follow-on depth Indian founders often had to seek abroad.” @richabajpai87, Founder, @YourCampusFund, spoke of the funding challenges faced by research-driven ventures. “The hardest stretch for a deeptech company in India is the one between a working lab prototype and its first institutional cheque. Grants and university support usually run out at proof of concept, and most venture capital arrives only once there is revenue. Many of India’s best research-driven founders get stuck in that gap, and some leave the country to close it,” she said. Effective deployment of the RDI Fund will be critical to addressing these gaps, helping deeptech ventures access the capital they need to advance from validated technology towards commercialisation. My views on @MeenakshiRajat panel —— The reported US consideration of deploying the GBU-43/B “Mother of All Bombs” (MOAB) against Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear-related sites, including Pickaxe Mountain, signals a potential escalation in a conflict already past six months, yet it also reveals deep strategic and political constraints. While the MOAB remains the largest non-nuclear weapon in the American arsenal and is capable of wide-area surface destruction, military officials privately doubt its effectiveness against deeply buried, granite-protected facilities, viewing it more as a psychological or “information operation” tool than a means of decisively eliminating Iran’s nuclear program. Against the backdrop of an unpopular war and approaching midterm elections, the planning discussions—sometimes framed internally as a “fireworks show”—appear designed to provide President Trump with a visible off-ramp: a dramatic strike that can be presented as victory, followed by a force drawdown, even if core strategic objectives remain unmet. Any such use would carry risks of civilian harm and further regional instability while underscoring the administration’s bind between the political need to claim resolution and the practical limits of available options.

Appeal: @narendramodi Ji I have said this repeatedly: India needs a full-fledged Minister of Technology AI and a dedicated, full-fledged Minister of Information & Broadcasting. It is time for Prime Minister Modi to address this seriously. In an era when technology, AI, digital platforms and information warfare are central to national competitiveness, this concentration of responsibilities is a strategic concern. I fail to understand why this issue remains unresolved. Treating these critical portfolios as additional responsibilities risks sending the wrong signal about their priority. Ashwini Vaishnaw who we love and respect, currently holds three major portfolios: Railways, Electronics & IT, and Information & Broadcasting. Each demands sustained leadership and focused attention. India’s ambitions for 2047 require dedicated leadership in technology and information. This is not a minor administrative issue; it deserves urgent reconsideration. @DasShaktikanta @sanjeevsanyal @TVMohandasPai @NandanNilekani @KanganaTeam @ShamikaRavi @RajeevRC_X @ARanganathan72 @KanchanGupta @gopalkagarwal @BahlKanan @nikhilkamathcio @vikramsampath @ArvindKrishna @satyanadella @satyanadella, @sundarpichai, @ArvindKrishna, @nikesharora, @nealmohan, @MicronCEO, @JayZscaler, @kunalb11, @RamaswmySridhar, @AravSrinivas, @ThomasOrTK, @LeenaNairHR, @snarayen, @VivekGRamaswamy, @RepBera, @CongressmanRaja, @RepSuhas @Kash_Patel @GargiRawat @AdityaRajKaul @VishnuNDTV @niraj_shah @karlmehta @ShefVaidya
