One procedure. Two training models. Which one fits your training goals?
At IMRA Surgical, our Partial Nephrectomy Class II and Class IV models offer different anatomical features and procedural challenges, allowing surgeons to select a training experience that aligns with their educational objectives.
๐น Class II | Focused Skills Training
Featuring a single exophytic tumour, this model supports targeted practice of essential partial nephrectomy techniques, including vascular clamping, tumour resection and renorrhaphy.
๐น Class IV | Progressive Procedural Training
Featuring four perfused tumours of varying sizes and locations, alongside expanded renal anatomy, this model enables surgeons to practise more complex procedural techniques, including dissection, vascular control, tumour resection, haemostasis and renorrhaphy.
Different anatomy. Different challenges. The same commitment to surgical realism.
Both models are designed to provide realistic, repeatable hands-on training, allowing surgeons to refine their techniques in a controlled environment without the need for animal tissue or cadavers.

This is the one you've been waiting for. And yes, it bleeds. ๐ฉธ
Realistic bleeding. Complex anatomy. Repeatable practice.
IMRA Surgical's Prostatectomy Class V Hydrogel Model takes surgical simulation to another level, giving surgeons the opportunity to practise complex procedures, navigate critical anatomy and refine their technique โ again and again.
Because mastering a complex procedure takes more than a single attempt.
Designed for high-fidelity, minimally invasive surgical training, Class V combines realistic tissue handling, detailed pelvic anatomy and simulated bleeding to support hands-on practice across key procedural stages, including:
โข Bladder neck dissection and prostate removal
โข Neurovascular bundle identification and nerve-sparing techniques
โข Vascular management and haemostasis with realistic bleeding simulation
โข Urethrovesical anastomosis and suturing
โข Pelvic lymphadenectomy, including limited, standard and extended dissection
With consistent anatomy and repeatable training conditions, surgeons can revisit challenging procedural steps, refine their approach and develop greater familiarity with complex surgical techniques before entering the operating room.
The complexity of the procedure. The freedom to practise it repeatedly.

Behind the scenes: TME model testing
Last week, our team continued testing and refining IMRA Surgicalโs newest colorectal model in development, designed to support hands-on Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) training.
Led by our Head of Clinical Research, Associate Professor Helen Mohan, this latest round of testing was conducted using the Intuitive da Vinci surgical system, putting the model through key stages of the procedure to assess anatomy, tissue behaviour and the overall procedural experience in a robotic setting.
And this is where weโd love input from the wider surgical community.
Weโre inviting colorectal surgeons to get involved in the next stages of testing and validation. Your expertise and feedback can directly help shape the model as we continue refining it for realistic, procedure-based TME training.
Interested in testing the model, collaborating with our research team or contributing to its validation? Weโd love to hear from you.

Build procedural familiarity before entering the OR โ with realistic, hands-on inguinal hernia training.
The IMRA Surgical Inguinal Hernia Class IV hydrogel model provides a high-fidelity training platform for minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair, supporting both TAPP and TEP approaches in a controlled, repeatable environment.
Featuring both direct and indirect hernia defects, the model enables surgeons and trainees to work through key stages of the procedure, including:
โข Peritoneal incision and pre-peritoneal dissection
โข Hernia identification and reduction
โข Mesh placement and fixation
โข Peritoneal closure
With realistic anatomy and tissue handling, Inguinal Hernia Class IV allows users to repeat key procedural steps, refine technique and develop greater familiarity with the complete repair before transitioning those skills to the operating room.

We had a fantastic time last week at the ISUCRS 2026 Pre-Congress Workshop for Robotic-Assisted Low Anterior Resection (LAR), where participants had exclusive early access to train with IMRA Surgical's developmental LAR hydrogel model in our DadBod torso trainer.
Still in development, this next-generation prototype gave surgeons with a range of backgrounds and experience levels the opportunity to practise the surgical skills and procedural steps vital to the LAR procedure, alongside the guidance and mentorship of the amazing colorectal experts Professor Seon-Hahn Kim and Professor Amjad Parvaiz, allowing them to practice the full procedure including dynamic port placement in our torsos to the models ability to replicate vessel clipping, colon stapling, total mesorectal excision and beyond, to advance their capabilities in a repeatable and ethical training environment.
It was also a privilege to see the model used seamlessly across three robotic platformsโda Vinci Xi, Toumai, and Edgeโdemonstrating the platform-agnostic flexibility that allows IMRA Surgical's technology to support training regardless of the minimally invasive surgical platform being used.
A sincere thank you to the Paul Selvindoss, the workshop faculty, organisers, and participants for their invaluable feedback and collaboration.
