We are equally proud to honour two distinguished personalities with the Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman — Padma Shri Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, renowned Odissi maestro, for his exceptional contribution to performing arts, and Shri Damodar Behera, sculptor and art educator, for his excellence in visual arts.

IMFA’s greenfield project at Kalinganagar was inaugurated today by Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha along with a special felicitation as the country’s largest producer of ferro chrome.
Also present on the occasion were Hon’ble Ministers Shri Pradeep Bal Samanta and Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble MP Dr Rabindra Narayan Behera, Hon’ble MLAs Shri Akash Das Nayak, Shri Amar Nayak & Shri Himanshu Shekhar Sahoo, Chief Secretary Anu Garg and other senior officials.
In just 15 months we went from groundbreaking to hot metal tapping which was possible due to support from the State Government and all its agencies along with the dedication of the Project Team.
We are looking to expand smelting capacity further and produce higher value-added speciality alloys to diversify the product basket.
IMFA has always prioritised local employment, and we will also make our presence felt in Kalinganagar through various CSR interventions aimed at uplifting the community.

As part of the 43rd Foundation Day celebration of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB), IMFA’s Sukinda & Mahagiri Mines showcased their environmental management and sustainability initiatives at an exhibition held in Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar.
The exhibition model highlighted key practices, including scientific dump stabilisation, efficient Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations, and underground backfilling using bottom ash, reflecting our focus on responsible mining, resource conservation and a circular economy.
The IMFA stall was visited by Shri Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Hon’ble Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Odisha, along with senior officials from the Government of Odisha and OSPCB.

Sunday, September 20th wasn’t a day when our team relaxed!!! I am delighted that with the load being steadily increased in the first furnace at KNR 1 (greenfield project) and stable operations elsewhere, total daily ferro chrome production has crossed 1000 tonnes for the first time. It will, of course, further increase when we commission the second furnace next month.
