Washington just discovered a radical idea: check the receipt. Fertilizer barriers came down. Farmers’ bills didn’t. Now the FTC is asking why. Farmers don’t want price controls. They want answers. My latest for @NEWSMAX: newsmax.com/politics/ferguso…

It's hard to find a chapter of the last three decades of corn advocacy that Kenneth Hartman Jr. didn't help write. As he completes his service as chairman of NCGA's Corn Board, we want to take a moment to thank him for a career that has shaped this organization and improved the lives of corn farmers across the country. Kenny's story starts in Waterloo, Illinois, where he is a fifth-generation farmer. He runs the family grain operation with his wife, Anita, his mother, Joann, and his daughter, Amanda. Over the years, the Hartmans have grown specialty crops like tofu soybeans and white corn, and they were among the first to adopt precision farming technologies. His daughters, Alexis and Ashley, have taken their talents off the farm to the professional world. In 2021, Prairie Farmer recognized Kenny as a Master Farmer for his outstanding production skills and his deep commitment to family and service. Once on the Corn Board, Kenny took on one responsibility after another. He eventually went on to lead the entire organization as NCGA president before stepping into his current role as chairman. Illinois has benefited from his leadership, too. Kenny is a past president of the Illinois Corn Growers Association, a past chairman of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, and a member of the Illinois Leadership Council for Ag Education. Kenny, words can't fully capture what your leadership has meant to corn growers. Thank you for the countless miles, meetings, and hours you've given to this work, and thank you to the Hartman family for sharing you with us for so long. Your legacy will be felt in farm country for many years to come. @ilcorn

Harvest is about more than what's in the field. It's about who's coming home from it. As another harvest season begins, take a moment to put safety at the top of your checklist. Harvest Safety Musts ✅Prep equipment early – Breakdowns are a stressful situation ✅Check all lights & markers – Be seen, stay safe ✅Slow down on public roads – It’s not just your life on the line ✅Get rest – Exhaustion leads to mistakes ✅Look up – Power lines and electrical hazards may be above. Stay alert Grain Bin Safety – No Shortcuts 🚫Lock out & tag out ALL moving equipment 🚫Cover every floor opening 🚫NEVER enter a bin alone ✅Harness + lifeline = lifesaver 🚫Don’t “walk down” grain – it’s a trap 🚫Ditch loose clothing – it can catch in a heartbeat The harvest is important, but your life, your family, and your future matter more. Because the most important thing you bring home this harvest isn't the crop. It's YOU! For more information check the link in the comments @ILSoybean @ilcorn

The Senate Ag Committee advanced Farm Bill 2.0 Wednesday - a big step toward the five-year certainty farmers have been waiting for. IL Corn was in DC this week pushing for year-round E15, stronger export markets, and relief from input cost consolidation. #FarmBill

Thanks to @ILCorn for stopping by my DC office to discuss the challenges facing our family farms and rural economies. It is critical that we continue our work to expand markets for American agriculture, strengthen our trade partnerships, secure year-round E15, and provide our farmers with the tools they need to succeed. That includes getting a strong Farm Bill across the finish line. The House has done its job, and it’s past time for the Senate to pass the Farm Bill I proudly supported to deliver the predicability and certainty our farmers and producers deserve.

We agree @RepEricSorensen - bipartisanship happens at the gas station. E15 is good for drivers and corn farmers, and supported by Republicans and Democrats alike!
😭 Rep. Eric Sorensen went full meteorologist mode for TMZ DC's @hicharliecotton and said his 20 years in local news make him an effective politician.

"Congress has spent years telling farmers a new farm bill is coming. Yet once again, farmers wait while Washington argues over an issue that may seem far removed from agriculture: the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program." Read Shane’s take ⬇️ farmprogress.com/farm-policy…
