Well, I just pulled papers for a third term on School Committee. Sure feels like I just did this yesterday? But it was in fact two years ago! Local friends, if you’d like to sign my papers and check out my studio, this is the perfect opportunity to do both! 24R Dane st.

If any local political nerds are around Friday am, consider coming to Winter Hill
Brewery to meet Tanisha Sullivan, who is running for Secretary of State. (I haven’t met her yet, but people I know and trust are excited about her - here’s looking at you @dre4theville)
Our new messed-up ward maps with sub-precincts are the latest example of why we need change in the Secretary of the Commonwealth office.
What if I were to tell you someone awesome is running for that office?
Come join me Friday morning at @WinterHillBrew to talk to @Tanisha4MA!

on by the full committee in August. My colleague Laura Pitone, as the only member who has done a search before, will be doing some research this summer on search firms and a proposed timeline, so that we can hit the ground running in the fall for a thoughtful and thorough search,

What a lovely way to finish off the school year, as a volunteer - a huge thank you note from first graders. 😊
I'm often asked questions about how the SPS budget works. I certainly had no idea before being on School Committee. So, I wrote a one page explainer. If you are curious: sites.google.com/view/ilanaf…
Because y'all could use some good news: my husband (a nurse at a major city hospital) was offered earned time yesterday for the first time in over a year. This means they are no longer short staffed/overwhelmed.

As we look towards the unknown future of this pandemic we need to remember what John F. Kennedy said: "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." So stop asking us for shit. You do something.
