With the girls State Championship wrapped up and the boys district tournament champions being decided soon, keep an eye on idahoops.com over the next couple of weeks.

In recognition of Avery Howell's selection to the 2024 McDonald's All American Team (joining Destiny Slocum-2016), we've added a complete, sortable list of every girls and boys McDonald's All American since the inception of the game: idahoops.com/McDonalds/G Enjoy!

The State brackets are all set for today's finals: idahoops.com/StateTourn/2024…

More thanks to all who have been contributing to the pro's lists. We're still working to fill gaps and will ultimately separate the lists out with their own pages, here's what we have as of this morning: idahoops.com/D1/G idahoops.com/D1/B

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Pro's list. There are so many additions, we'll probably create a new page on the site just for the pros. For now, you can view the list here: idahoops.com/D1/B

Who's missing from this list of Idaho Pro's? • Slocum, Destiny – WNBA • Bauscher, Matt – International • Dranginis, Kyle – International • Freeman, Gary – NBA • Furniss, Gary – CBA • Hayes, Steve – NBA • Wilkinson, Dale – NBA

Teton boys basketball team went undefeated for three seasons (1975-77) with a record of 75-0. At the time, it was 19th longest win streak in U.S. high school history.

Another undefeated State Champ team... Meridian girls 1981, 82, 83 (93 game winning streak): idahopress.com/sportsstars/2…?

Lake City boys are just the third boys 5A team to go undefeated and win the state championship (Centennial-1995, Capital-2014). Does anyone know how many times that has happened with girls teams? All classifications?

Team by team, at a glance, there doesn't appear to be a negative correlation between number of 3pt attempts and 3pt %. In other words, generally, teams that throw up more 3's don't have a lower % and visa-versa.

Graph of boys 5A SIC team 3pt % compared to 3pt attempts per game 2008-2023 (14.5 3GA per game and approx 30.5% average over the 16 year span):

I don't have the data for the state tourney specifically, but maybe we can look at the boys 5A SIC data as a representative sample. Here's a graph that compares team RPG to team PPG with shooting %'s added for interest (2008-2023):

Fun fact: In round 1, Lake City beat Highland by 37 points (62-25). That's the largest winning margin by a large school (today's 5A equivalent) in the State Tourney in the last 38 years: idahoops.com/StateGamesPre

Boys and Girls State Tourney PPG plotted with the same 15-point spread so the scales are equivalent. Why has the boys scoring average declined so much compared to the girls???

Boys State Tourney PPG over the past 37 years. The dotted line is a linear progression trend line. Interesting.

The scores for every Idaho High School State Basketball Tournament game played over the past 36 years are now online in a searchable, sortable table: idahoops.com/ > Statewide > Games
