We built ID8R, a no-code builder for immersive websites. Animated backgrounds, real 3D scenes, WebGL and Three.js effects, visual blocks, and AI-assisted generation. What would you build with this? 30 seconds of what’s possible ↓

New in ID8R: generative @threejs animations you can drop straight behind your page. A growing collection of beautifully weird, living backgrounds, made possible by @thespite’s open source generative work. Pick one. Add content. Let the page dance. id8r.com 🪩

New in ID8R: Mini Worlds 🌏 Your web page can now live inside Little Tokyo or Steampunk Farm, with animated worlds and cinematic fly-throughs happening behind the page. Built from the brilliant @Polyfork3d kits by @lucas_martinic. Tiny worlds, big backgrounds. 🤏🌆

We loved this world from @gmi_cloud so we turned it into scenes you can use as a backdrop for your page. 🫶 #threejs 🫶 #opensource
Ran Claude Opus 5 in one marathon session for 24 hours straight. Ended up with this. Sakura Crossing: an explorable Japanese town in blossom season. And we open sourced it 👇

#BuildInPublic: I’ve been loving Claude Code and Fable. They are letting me build things at a speed that still feels ridiculous. But they also keep reminding me why AI still needs a human in the loop (for now). ID8R can turn an existing website into a completely new page. It can create anything from a basic landing page through to something more involved with blog posts, status updates and other content. I’ve also built an outreach tool around it. Right now, I manually review every page before contacting the owner. The goal is to automate more of that once the system can produce something I’m happy with at least 90 times out of 100. The latest step was an auto send pipeline. AI builds the page, another AI reviews the result and makes design improvements, then the system can email the finished page to its owner. Sounds straightforward. Except the automation was going to decide whether the email should be sent using the score from BEFORE the design review. So a page might start as a 5 out of 10, get substantially improved into something closer to a 7 or 8, but still be rejected because the system was gating it using the original score. Worse, the pages most likely to benefit from the design review were also the ones most likely to be filtered out. The AI had built the pipeline, the review system, the improvements and the sending logic. Most of it worked exceptionally well. But it still missed the basic question of whether it was judging the page before or after it had finished improving it. That is the strange reality of building with AI right now. It can produce an impressive amount of working software, then introduce one small logic flaw that changes the entire behaviour of the system. The human role is becoming less about writing every line and more about noticing the question the AI never thought to ask.

We gave @AlphaIndustries’ link page a makeover. Felt like we couldn’t really do it justice without a camo feel, so we tuned the properties of one of the @paper shaders until it started giving military energy. What do you think? Which page should we reimagine next?

We redesigned @carlmoon's link page using ID8R. A more expressive way to show off @TheMoonShow and more? We think so 🌙😊

Thought we'd give one of our favourite tech podcasts a makeover... We ran the @NoPriorsPod site through our AI builder. 1 link in, a new page out in 30 seconds. Live preview in the next post 💜 What do you think @saranormous and @eladgil?

We turned the ID8R homepage into a playground. Open the design options, choose Glass, then set the scene to Scroll Film. Tell us what films you want to scroll through next 👇

We couldn’t stop thinking about this technique. So we built a version into ID8R: video in the background, scrubbed frame-by-frame as you scroll. We’re testing a few different films now. The first one reveals what’s really under the Windows XP hills 😅

Thank you for this 💚 We added @paper shaders to our page builder along with some of @uuuuuulala's other open source designs (all attributed) and they are magic ✨ Our homepage is a playground: id8r.com

Finished adding @techartist_'s 'Three.js Particle Morph System' as a 3D background for ID8R's glass theme. Also added support to apply the effect to models, not just procedural shapes. Experiment for yourself, our homepage is a playground: id8r.com Quick vid 👇

Huge thanks to the open web. This wouldn’t exist without @threejs, @webgl_webgpu experiments, shader libraries (@paper), @CodePen & @codrops demos, and everyone openly sharing beautiful interactive work. I’ll keep adding proper credits as we grow.

Launching as an early version and building in public from here. Founding member pricing is open to the first 100: $4/month. Try it, break it, tell me what you’d build, or just say which scene in the reel stood out. id8r.com #ThreeJS #WebGL #BuildInPublic
