Media Release - Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce announce strategic intent to partner and develop India's indigenous combat engine for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme London / Mumbai, 14thAugust 2026: Reliance Industries Limited (Reliance) and Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today announced their strategic intent to partner and offer capabilities for the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of a sovereign indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. As part of the partnership, Reliance and Rolls-Royce will explore the formation of a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex that will be a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technology in India. The partnership will offer a compelling proposition for joint development of the AMCA engine in India, bringing together world-leading technology and industrial execution capabilities. This marks a step towards realising the vision set out by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, for India’s defence ecosystem to deliver an indigenous engine to power the country’s fighter jet programme. Statement from Sh Anant Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited: "India’s strategic autonomy requires sovereign capability in critical technologies. Our intent with Rolls-Royce is to combine their world-leading expertise in advanced propulsion with Reliance’s technology, manufacturing, scale and execution capabilities to build an indigenous aero-engine ecosystem in India. Together, we aim to build an enduring national capability that can make India self-reliant and, over time, globally competitive in advanced propulsion technologies. This is our contribution to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Viksit Bharat." Statement from Tufan ErginbilgiƧ, CEO, Rolls-Royce plc: "I welcome the opportunity to join forces with Reliance Industries, bringing together our century-long heritage in advanced engineering and proven engine expertise with their homegrown leadership in Indian industry. Together, with our existing partnerships and capabilities in India, this marks a major milestone towards building a robust, self-reliant aerospace ecosystem in the country." By combining Rolls-Royce’s global leadership in engines with the established industrial strengths of Reliance, the Aero Gas Turbine Complex will build sovereign, end-to-end Indian capability across design, development, manufacturing, testing, production and through-life support. This will also unlock opportunities to explore wider collaborations across defence, civil aerospace, and new power and propulsion systems. The alliance will support India’s ā€˜Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision for technology indigenisation and help position the country as a global leader in advanced propulsion capabilities. They should also do this in all of Janakpuri in Delhi, it's too congested even for small ambulances to pass through those roads
Varanasi: Dalmandi redevelopment underway for smoother Kashi Vishwanath Dham access šŸ”¹ 650 m road widened from 3–4 m to 17.4 m for easier four-wheeler entry šŸ”¹ Eases congestion at Godowlia, Maidagin & Nai Sadak šŸ”¹ Dalmandi to be developed as hub for Banarasi sarees, ODOP & GI products šŸ”¹ Underground utilities – electricity, sewer, water & gas pipelines šŸ”¹ 3.2 m footpaths on both sides with modern street lighting

Nah, concrete is alright
Dear Indian Infra bros, These are tiny roads in West Cork in Ireland which gets 1200-2800 mm of rain every year. They are all asphalt. No concrete roads. And hardly any potholes. Stop glamorizing Fadnavis & Gadkari who are robbing you blind to enrich their buddies.

All that is fine but at least learn how to make good footpaths, the ones in RS Ward are a nightmare to walk on, with all sorts of obstructions @mybmcWardRS
🚨Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched its Pedestrian First campaign to clear illegal hawkers, debris, and parked vehicles from 320 kilometers of footpaths in its first phase.

Should we travel in bullock-carts then?
Building infrastructure is the easiest system through which public money can be passed on to a few companies via guaranteed government contracts. It ensures that capitalists get assured return on investments without ever having to directly face the final consumer.

Vicious serpents like you should stay away from Indian political discourse, you have got nothing to do with it
I think if I could ask Rahul Gandhi a question it would be what concrete policies he would prioritize in a potential first year as a PM trying to move on from the Modi era of Indian politics.

Do you think tunnels are made of vibranium or smth? Landslides can disrupt anything and everything in its way
When the Missing Link of Mumbai-Pune E-Way opened - it was bumpy. Then when potholes appeared it was a logical extension to poor workmanship. And now this. We can keep blaming Rains all we want but if we don’t build infra keeping that in mind - then the blame is on us.

Ah yes! Trains before 2014 were such a pleasure to ride because it was fun seeing people travel on top of the coaches, poop falling on tracks because of no bio-toilet and filthy coaches
Only someone who doesn't travel by trains can say so. Indian trains, which used to be such a pleasure to ride till 2014, have themselves become disused, dusty, broken relics of the past. All attention on Vande Bharats. And most Indian stations: another relic. Indian Railways is another BSNL story. Being deliberately ruined, so later can be given to cronies, and for pittance.

No one should be copying Tesla because their interior design is the worst, no one wants an iPad to control every single function of the car, people would rather have buttons for everything, don't act like those tech bros that want screens everywhere
No Indian car company has realized the importance of removing the drive selector from the center console and leaving it free for the personal use. Tesla has been doing this for a decade plus. Indian companies are still trying to aspire to be the Jaguars from 2000s.

Ethanol blending in petrol is not some Indian experiment. It is a scientifically proven global standard followed by the major economies for decades. It is not ā€œpoisonā€ for your car engine nor is it adulteration. It is smart energy policy. In FY 2025-26 alone, India saved nearly ₹1.85 lakh crore in foreign exchange, replaced 302 lakh metric tonnes of crude oil imports, and channelled more than ₹1.58 lakh crore in the agriculture economy. These are not estimates. These are hard numbers. Government is not forcing ethanol-blended in to your car’s throttle. 100 octane petrol (ethanol-free, high-performance) already exists and is sold by public sector oil companies. No one is stopping anyone from buying it. The real problem is this: 100 octane petrol is missing from the overwhelming majority of petrol pumps across the country. That is why the debate feels forced. If the government ensures that every single petrol pump in India stocks both E20 blended petrol and 100 octane petrol side by side, the entire manufactured controversy around ā€œflex fuelā€ and ā€œno choiceā€ collapses overnight. Consumers will then genuinely exercise their freedom, some will pick blended fuel for the national interest and lower effective cost, others will pick 100 octane for whatever personal reason they have. No coercion. Pure choice. The solution is not to scrap a policy that has already saved the country nearly two lakh crore rupees. The solution is to give people real options at every pump. For those, agitating against this policy. Stop the selective outrage. Demand availability 100 octane petrol. #Gadkari #Ethanol #HardeepSinghPuri

We never had this many expressways and since quality control is not strict, such things happen, China is still famous for tofu dreg construction as a result of which many of their expressways and bridges collapse but no one has anything to say about it
We have never seen such a corrupt government in the history of India. After just one spell of rain, the Dehradun Expressway, built at a cost of ₹12,000 crore and inaugurated by @narendramodi, has developed large potholes in the middle. Almost every new infrastructure project under the Modi government is collapsing within months, yet the Godi media will say there is no corruption.

The newly built BMC roads and sewer lines are doing their job very well, there is not a single puddle on the road and it looks aesthetic with the marking but the footpaths are absolutely pathetic

"Simple Upgrades, Maximum Tamasha" is what sums this up, most cars haven't even had an injector, fuel line or spark plug replacement after all these years this is your chance to make your engine ethanol compatible and replace your carbon infested parts
Our car, which we bought with our hard-earned money, paid so many taxes on over the years and maintained with love and care, is now being used as an experiment by government. This whole ethanol policy was nothing but a major psyop, setting a dangerous precedent.
