Sei's 10x engine just went live on mainnet
Sei (@SeiNetwork) v6.6 is live as of block 224,201,091, and it's the network's largest upgrade since EVM support arrived in May 2024. The release bundles nearly 400 pull requests and, crucially, brings the first mainnet components of Sei Giga, with the new hybrid executor now the default execution path at roughly 10x the throughput according to @Sei_Labs.
The upgrade also begins separating two years of EVM history into its own database, patches over 30 security issues spanning DoS and supply-chain hardening, and smooths out validator operations with faster pruning and retuned consensus timing. $SEI holders have been waiting on Giga since it was first teased, and the rollout is now commencing.
