Happy #WorldWetlandsDay! 💚🐸💚
Human societies are intricately linked to our planet’s wetlands 🌎 These invaluable ecosystems make our existence on Earth possible.
Let’s join together in our resolute commitment to protect the world’s wetlands.

#WWD2025
Wetlands not only create habitat corridors, supporting biodiversity, they also store carbon & act as natural climate buffers, reducing the impacts of extreme weather events.
Wetlands are a vital ecosystem for a healthy planet & sustainable cities🌍
#WorldWetlandsDay
@RamsarConv
To increase environmental awareness, cities can organize events such as guided wetland tours, birdwatching activities & clean-up drives, & collaborate with schools & universities to use wetlands as outdoor classrooms 🍃🦩🐟
#WorldWetlandsDay #WWD2025 #ActForWetlands
@RamsarConv
Cities can educate communities on the
importance of #wetlands for:
🔘Filtering water: improving water quality for drinking & sanitation
🔘Regulating stream flow, preventing floods & mitigating droughts
#WorldWetlandsDay #WWD2025 #WetlandsForOurCommonFuture
@RamsarConv
🌏To restore & maintain #wetlands, cities need to integrate wetland management & budget goals into:
🗺️Municipal development plans & zoning regulations
📃Climate resilience strategies
#WorldWetlandsDay #WWD2025 #WetlandsForOurCommonFuture #ActforWetlands
@RamsarConv
By encouraging eco-tourism, community-based initiatives & sustainable agriculture, cities can support local livelihoods that benefit from wetlands 🙌🌎
