Teamsters at @Disneyland have overwhelmingly voted by an overwhelming 99 percent to authorize a strike!
The decisive vote is a direct response to @Disney executives’ refusal to negotiate in good faith and the company’s numerous unfair labor practices.
In California, 6,000 of the over 13,000 cast members at Disney are Teamsters. These workers, including attraction hosts, resort parking and transportation staff, and animal care workers, are fighting for higher wages, better benefits, fair attendance policies, seniority rights, safer working conditions, and greater respect on the job.
“We are fed up with being pushed around by Disney and are ready to fight back against its unfair labor practices,” said David Hernandez, a monorail operator and Local 495 shop steward. “Disney believes it can bully us into accepting a subpar contract by violating our rights, but they are wrong. We are united, strong, and prepared to strike to secure the fair contract we deserve.”

💥Today, more than a dozen members of Congress from Illinois sent a letter to @amazon CEO Andy Jassy demanding that the company stop its illegal union-busting against its DSP drivers in Skokie, IL!
The drivers, who organized with #Teamsters Local 705, went on strike last week against Amazon's unfair labor practices.

The U was 30 mins late for bargaining this morning, and still couldn't say anything besides "lol no" to our most basic of asks like "can we be notified if our appointment will end?" and "can we be protected against workplace harassment?" and "can we afford to buy food?"

A disgrace of an "offer" from the University of Minnesota. The wage floor that they propose is $23/hour-- keep in mind that most of us are paid for no more than 20hrs/week. For 80% of grad workers, this "offer" represents ZERO improvement. Do you accept this?
ALT What is a grad worker's worth? The U gave us their answer.
ALT After almost 3 months of waiting, the U finally gave us their compensation counters after outright rejecting many of our other proposals, including fee coverage and vacation time.

There are also dashed lines showing the cost of living, for a single person with no dependents in Hennepin County (37k) and the SNAP limit (29k)) The U thinks that Grad Workers are worth $23/hour. Our proposal is $36.75/hour.
ALT Their highest counter was $27/hour in 3 fiscal years. It took 3 months just to counter with the status quo. Do you think that's what you're worth?
