US strikes Iran twice in 48 hours over attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz I warned you Iran would violate the 60-day ceasefire extension and the MOU the first chance they got — and they did exactly that. Again, there isn't going to be peace deal. On Thursday, Iran launched a one-way attack drone that hit the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely as it was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast. No injuries were reported and the ship continued its journey. President Trump called the attack a “foolish violation” of the recent ceasefire agreement aimed at reopening the vital oil shipping route. After U.S. stock markets closed on Friday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) responded with airstrikes on Iranian targets — specifically missile and drone storage facilities and coastal radar sites along the Strait of Hormuz and on Qeshm Island. The strikes were described as a “powerful response” and lasted about 90 minutes. Then, early the next morning, Iran struck again — this time hitting the Panama-flagged oil tanker M/T Kiku (carrying over 2 million barrels of crude) with a one-way attack drone near the Strait of Hormuz. In direct response, the U.S. launched additional strikes on more Iranian military targets, including surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage, and minelayer capabilities. This latest round of tit-for-tat strikes is testing the fragile ceasefire reached just last week. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. Iran continues to test Trump. They are trying to spike oil prices and rattle markets, while simultaneously trying to keep the blockade removed so they can sell their oil and string along negotiations into the mid-term elections. Trump posted today that U.S. aircraft struck Iranian missile/drone storage and coastal radar sites for violating the ceasefire again. He warned they may never learn, and there may come a point where the U.S. is “no longer able to be reasonable” and will be forced to “militarily complete the job” — meaning the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist. Trump is warning that if Iran continues this behavior, the U.S. will resume combat operations. I keep warning you that the U.S. is going to have to eventually resume combat operations — Iran has no intention of abandoning its nuclear ambitions and they will NEVER make a peace deal.
