when fighters are getting phone calls from bosses telling them, “If you keep wrestling like that, you’re going to get cut,” then you’re basically telling fighters how you want them to fight.
At what point does that cross the line? Isn’t that influencing the competition?
And if you want to release a fighter, fine. But don’t then publicly say he was “hard to deal with” or create some bullshit narrative about him that could damage his reputation and make other organizations think twice about signing him.
Release fighters if you want. Just don’t try to damage their careers on the way out

This is the first time in like 4 years that the UFC was gonna do something cool and DDP killed it. Tough day for your boy.
🚨 Dricus du Plessis' coach says they turned down a UFC offer to move up to 205 for a grand prix featuring DDP, Jiri Prochazka, Navajo Stirling and Magomed Ankalaev
"They wanted four guys to go into the pool and fight in one night. Then the winners of that fight each other, and the winner of that fights Ulberg.
I said no... we will do it gradually. But we want our belt back, and we want to defend it once."

Joe Pyfer believes he knows exactly what Bo Nickal is game planning for their fight:
“I know what they're banking on. I'm not gonna tell you what I see, but I know what he sees.
He thinks they're gonna play the game of trying to wait for me to gas out.
I think his illusion of game planning, to stall, to run, to clinch, to wait for me to get tired.
Let's not forget this is his first 5-round fight. I just don't think he's ready for 5 rounds, man.
It's one thing to prepare for it in a gym. It's another thing once you get in there, once you feel my presence, once you feel the intention, and people kind of freeze up.”
Patiently waiting for his title shot 🏆

👀‼️Charles Oliveira says he has no interest in keeping the BMF belt if it means he has to abandon his wrestling and simply stand and trade punches.
Responding to criticism of his approach against Max Holloway, Oliveira defended his performance, claiming, “Nobody in the division has done to Max what I did to him,” while pointing to his success in both striking and grappling.
He made it clear that if being a BMF means only standing and exchanging punches, he'd rather give up the title.
“Here's the belt. Take it somewhere else. The belt is not for me. I'm an MMA fighter. I'm a well-rounded fighter.”

Bo Nickal explains why his fight with Joe Pyfer was pushed back and responds to Pyfer framing the matchup as 'poor kid versus rich kid':
“This is something I've been dealing with since January, February, and now I feel like I'm at a point where I needed to just take some time to stop something from getting even worse than what it already is.
Now we get the main event, five rounds, which is a huge opportunity for me.
He can view it however he wants. I'm viewing it as my opportunity to go out here and continue to build my reputation and do what I know I'm capable of.
I'm not worried about what anybody else thinks of me. My focus is on improvement.”
I’m genuinely grateful for how dumb much of the MMA community is. I get to expose low-IQ, racist fans as a side hustle while making six figures doing it
They call me a rage baiter while raging in my replies, sending death threats & insults. Nothing angers them more than having their worldview exposed & being unable to defend it

The Farid Basharat situation is just further proof that the UFC is not a sports league. It's a sports entertainment company.
They're no longer in the business of finding out who is the best. They're in the business of finding out who is the most exciting, who can sell the most tickets and subscriptions.
Farid Basharat has clearly shown he's UFC caliber. But winning isn't good enough anymore. If you're not producing highlights and viral moments, they don't have much use for you.
Farid has more eyes on him than ever. Now it's about capitalizing on that attention and making the most of it.

🚨 Magomed Ankalaev says there have been talks about a potential fight with Dricus du Plessis at light heavyweight 👀
“There’s some talk about Dricus du Plessis. He wants to move up, and it’s possible they’ll arrange a fight between us. That’s the information we have for now.
It’s a good fight for me, and I’m interested in it myself.”

🚨| Farid Basharat tells @MightyMouse the UFC informed him they weren’t fans of his style following his fight with Chris Gutierrez last year.
He then beat Brazilian prospect Jean Matsumoto via split decision in a fight featuring 372 combined strikes thrown over 15 minutes.
Afterward, Basharat’s manager called the UFC to get their thoughts, only to be told they still found the fight boring. 🤔

Farid Basharat accuses the UFC of cultivating a fan base that values blood and finishes over high-level fighting, warning that the approach could damage the sport’s credibility.
“I think the company, the UFC, is manufacturing a fan base that doesn't appreciate good-quality fighting. Even if it's a mismatch, even if it's a low-level fight, as long as there's blood, as long as it's a first-round finish, we're happy.
And in my opinion, you just can't build a sport off that because you might do well for a couple of years ratings-wise, but sooner or later it's going to delegitimize the sport, and the fans are going to be left wanting high-quality fights.
When I see the best against the best, for me, that's what's entertaining. But the UFC is guaranteed 7.7 billion over the next seven years, so they're clearly great at what they're doing. So what do I know?”
