If I’m Jack Etienne I’m spending these next few months figuring out how to keep Dom and handing the keys to him. C9 needs a mix between a “murder your darlings” and a company man. And Dom fits the bill perfectly. C9 used to make difficult decisions but for me in the last few years they’re guided by sentimentality, shooting their load too early, and premature ejackulation. Back him however he wants, Abramovich/Kaldoon level transfer window inbound. This guy understands your culture. He’s only going to get better and we’re moving in a direction of former players becoming head coaches anyway. He can be the face of the LCS in no time. He got you almost to the finish line in a year of so much instability, 3 wholesale changes in staff, players benched and brought back. I think a year where his vision is enacted from the get go could see C9 lift a championship next year. Big priorities have to be - Firepower in ADC - Pressure behind Blaber, either a faux sub or a genuine prospect who is set to inherit the position. - Retain Thanatos and Vulcan Unless Blaber’s carbon monoxide detector works again and the actual debuff was him not eating then yeah all good. But can’t have that level of inconsistency without pressure to step up. Too complacent. The golden boy can’t be mollycoddled. Lyon has to eat. Difficult decisions need a hard man. I think getting Dom signed on is gonna be difficult, this year has no doubt been difficult and he’s definitely losing money not streaming. But you can tell he’s hungry, and he is exactly what the C9 fans need.
