Im excited to be in Singapore this week for #WorldSleep2025. It’s inspiring to see lived experience and research come together on a global stage, and to ensure that people with idiopathic hypersomnia and narcolepsy are part of the conversation.

Idiopathic Hypersomnia is a chronic neurological sleep/wake disorder that often doesn’t respond well to current treatments. Many people continue to struggle with debilitating symptoms. People with IH deserve better understanding, more effective treatments, and improved outcomes.

When I said this back in 2014, I had no idea how many people around the world felt the same way... it is deeply frustrating that, even now, there’s still no medication that effectively treats this distressing & debilitating aspect of IH." - Michelle Chadwick, creator of @IHAWeek

We asked people with IH to describe it in one word & this is what they said. Exhausting, isolating, debilitating & misunderstood say it all. IH isn’t just being tired. It’s a serious, life-altering neurological disorder. What is IDIOPATHIC HYPERSOMNIA? bit.ly/IHFacts
