Do you know the difference between #aquaponics and #hydroponics? Each method has it's pro's and con's, but both provide healthy plants for us to use. #STEM #Science #Engineering #Technology

💫💫Super thankful for our amazing coaches! There’s no job too big or small for Ms. Watkins, Ms. Casurra, Mrs. Spear or Mrs. Lanier. They’re the best in APS! #thehumphriesway

✨Terry is a true shining star at Humphries✨ @JaronTrimble @STEMontheHUMP
🌟 Meet Terry Strong III, our September Student of the Month from Humphries Elementary School! This fifth-grade scholar is making his mark both in and out of the classroom. A frequent Honor Roll student and member of the 30 & 30 Squad, Terry sets high goals for himself while encouraging his classmates to work hard and believe in themselves. 📚 Beyond academics, he is a dedicated football player for the GA Rattlers National Team who leads with kindness, patience, and heart. ❤️ Terry’s character, determination, and commitment to helping others make him a young leader worth celebrating! #APSExcellence #AtlantaPublicSchools

Thanks @TreesAtlanta for another fun-filled and educating experience. The first graders were able to get their hands dirty with weed digging and students were able to identify the different parts of the plants pulled. #STEM

I don't know if a snake as a classroom pet will be in my future! 😂 This trip to @PanolaMountain was a great trip before jumping into our classification unit. How would you classify this creepy crawler? #STEM #Science #

We officially launched the 2026–27 STEM Forward journey, and what a way to begin! Nearly 100 student leaders, educators, STEM professionals, and coaches came together to identify the barriers holding students back from STEM. A HUGE shout-out to @UPS for opening its doors to us.

Field experiences are essential as we connect standards to real-world experiences. The Biodiversity Bash hosted by West Atlanta Watershed was a great way to introduce our Classification unit. #STEM

Our news show helps us to stay connected and celebrate weekly wins. We can highlight student projects, share important news, and reinforce the STEM vision. As we move into September, student anchors will be "hired" to help their voices be heard! Link: youtu.be/M-MVqfoseWU?si=1ltZ…

In kindergarten, students had fun with sorting based on colors and shapes. Where can students apply this in the real world? #STEM
