But a game needs to reflect its budget and asking price.
So the question is: Where did the 300mil go in development, and how is the 80 bucks asking price warranted?

Both molten lava and metal is pretty viscous.
But that's not even really the point.
There's just NO effects work done here at all.
No SFX, no splashes, no fire effects.
It's just a completely dead asset... and for a 300mil budget, that's just a bit sad

I want so badly to understand the compulsion to fiercely defend a game online. Why not just play it and enjoy it? I have two theories.
1) You're trying really hard to make yourself believe you're having fun.
2) This piece of media was going to be your personality this month. There's too much on the line for it to be bad.
