the ultimate hypothetical form of branchmap at the end of time is all events and all assets; any asset potentially able to be conditioned by any event, every outcome potentially its own self-consistent financial universe in which you can assume that an outcome has occurred. which events, assets, and universes exist and potentially can become liquid will hopefully long term be determined by a dynamic market process that learns from market participants which event outcomes cleave which assets. markets for conditioned assets dont open without sufficient interest, perhaps determined by something like attention markets or launchpad dynamics.
this endless splintering will be too much for most traders to manage more than a handful of positions. but agents will be able to take your thesis about the future and form an entire portfolio designed to optimize for that future or set of futures. it could be a combination of hundreds of assets, conditional assets, perps, conditional lending/borrowing positions, and so on.
the design space for new types of instruments in multiverse finance is extremely vast, and we are building the tools to allow others to experiment, while also building our own novel instruments on that scaffolding.

Development of Underlying Infrastructure is Underway
Branchpoint is building Branchmap, a shared namespace that gives events, predicates, and outcomes stable onchain identities. One registered event, like a Fed decision, can be referenced at once by a prediction market, a DEX listing BTC conditioned on the outcome, and a lending protocol accepting that conditioned BTC as collateral, with no one redefining the event or its resolution.

back in the day i covered my home gym walls with blackboard paint and tried to do quantum topology while lifting. the idea was badass but it was not a fruitful multitasking setup
I first met @drbeefsupreme in 2022 at the @tloncorporation offsite in Pajaro Dunes. I was a newly hired "Special Operations Intern" (actual job title) and he did kernel engineering. Despite the lack of actual work overlap, we bonded over a shared interest in Cybernetics.
After Tlon, we both stayed in the @urbit diaspora, seeing each other occasionally but not really keeping in touch. So it was surprise when a mutual friend (s/o @ChrisCatoya) mentioned to me that he was working on exactly the same problem I was! We got on a call, and before it was over he'd booked a flight to New York where we spent a week sketching out the initial vision for Branchpoint.
New technological substrates presage changes not only in the means of production, but in the set of viable financial markets. A glut of high-quality inference ("intelligence on tap") doesn't merely imply that existing systems will become streamlined, but that their complexity will intensify as much as the frontier of this intelligence allows. @BranchpointXYZ is our bid on this opportunity.
public shoutout to my cofounder @HumanizerSequel . we've been working together for about 4 months and form a fantastic team. clean cut college dropout CEO and long haired hippie phd CTO is a winning combination. we're on the rise, we're gonna make the world a better place, and get rich doing so 🚀🚀🚀
Skate where the puck is going @BranchpointXYZ
the first generation of financial markets allowed us to trade ownership and the second allowed us to trade cash flows
prediction markets might become the first infrastructure that allows us to trade possible realities:
everyone is constantly making decisions across multiple possible futures
what if ai adoption accelerates faster than expected?
what if china invades taiwan?
what if ethereum becomes the settlement layer for global finance?
those scenarios already exist. they're just buried inside research reports. but i wonder what happens when those scenarios become markets instead
because once you can continuously price different versions of the future, you can build entirely different financial products around them
it feels like a much bigger design space than prediction markets themselves
some projects building around this @BranchpointXYZ, @lightconexyz, @ifmarkets
(paper by @drbeefsupreme dropping soon)
If you’re at Manifest find this man and ask him about Branchpoint
At manifest.is to shill @BranchpointXYZ and just happened to sit down to probably the only person here who has already heard of us

I am the one in the tie, you want the other guy. If you aren’t at Manifest I will be shilling @BranchpointXYZ in Chinatown (Manhattan)
i got a bunch of new followers yesterday. here's a few tidbits about me:
- finished math phd in 2019 on knot theory/quantum topology/quantum computing at georgia tech
- cofounded an artist co-op last year that acts as a 3rd space for local creatives
- main hobbies are art, lifting, running, yoga, hiking, math
- once competed as a strongman in 2019
- cohost, producer, and writer of live late night talk show for the last 7 years toolate.tv/ we've never really had an online presence until very recently, just do it for the love of the game
- worked on urbit for 4 years and nockchain for 3 years.
- this year i cofounded with @HumanizerSequel a new project called branchpoint.xyz bringing multiverse finance to hyperliquid and beyond. more info will be forthcoming in the near future.
- finance is a recent interest for me. it has rekindled my love of math that grad school did a great job of smothering.
later today i'll write about my journey to recover my health last year, where in 6 months i went from being unable to sit or stand for two days to getting ripped, cutting down to 10% body fat, and running my first half marathon.
on the left is me, on the right is @HumanizerSequel

So-called zoomer dynamism advocate feels really cool pushing the "bathtub pig brain centrifuge method" and "operation catgirl harem" in the NYC Biohackers group chat until his girl starts microdosing lithium and all of the sudden its peer review this and scholarly sources that
Extreme weather conditions are the only time this city feels at all civilized. Not a single PUC rabble-rouser or spreadsheet bugman in sight.
Urbit is discovering my meme chat app and I feel compelled to say that this is not “Hyperware chat” or any kind of serious offering. This is from a test in April to see how quickly I could use 3.5 Sonnet + our new app framework to spin up a p2p chat app
