Tiny Felder when someone from Oracle asked him about Launch Angle at today’s Fantasy Batting Practice: “Erase that word from your vocabulary. That’s why everyone’s hitting .170. You ever hear Willie Mays talk about ‘launch angle?’”
Tiny is the best.

As the news comes out that Derek Carr is retiring from the NFL, I am going to share something about him publicly for the first time.
A friend of ours was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she passed away when she was 39 —a mom of twins who were still children at the time.
She told her family she wanted Derek Carr to pray for her. Her husband reached out to me and asked if I thought that was possible knowing my background. I didn’t know but I researched and told him I would try. I found the name of Carr’s agent and I emailed him about our friend’s condition, situation and that the one person she wanted to pray with her was his client.
Turns out Derek Carr called her and prayed with her.
Our friend who passed was one of the most amazing Christians I’ve ever known or met. When I say that —allow me to put that into context. She was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and she stood bald from chemo in the Church we went to arms raised praising God. I stood in a prayer line during the hardest time in my life to have someone pray over me —and she was the one praying over people and when it was my turn in line she prayed over me. I’ll never forget standing there in front of the church and she asked me what was going on and what I needed prayer for —she asked if it would be okay to put her hand on my chest as she prayed. I said, “Okay.”
As she prayed I literally felt power surge through my chest where her hand was placed.
Both my wife and I have the word, “Godfidence,” tattooed on our right arms in memory and honor of her —that was her word —she’d tell anyone who would listen she “didn’t have confidence, she had Godfidence.” She’d say ‘that her confidence wasn’t in the doctors, it was in God.’
…and that’s who wanted Derek Carr to pray with her as things were getting worse and her cancer was progressing —toward the end.
