Hey,
So, always put me in your prayers whenever you can because one of these days, that thing Iโm looking for, Iโll find.
Yesterday night, I was on my way from the mainland to the island to got get some TLC because, dhur!
The time was 11:25pm.
As a was approaching the Yaba bridge stretch of the Third Mainland Bridge, that part where street lights starts becoming a suggestion? Yes! I saw an elderly woman ahead. She had a sack on her head, and another in her hand, power-jogging like she was training for a midnight marathon in the middle of nowhere.
So I did what every other sane human being driving by that time of the night would do, something adorned in common sense. Right???
So naturally, I slowed down.
Normally, I do give strangers going my direction a lift. But this was midnight and this old woman is trekking in the middle of nowhere. But my charity knows no bounds or situations.
Any other person that grew up in a Nigerian household can see the many ways this could go wrong; eg, she could perhaps turn into a bird in the back of my car, and Iโm suddenly chauffeuring poultry. And this is worse case scenario by the way, as Iโve skipped the many security dangers.
But even in my wild range of imagination, I could never have seen that one coming.
Now because Iโm ungovernable, and Iโm walking dangerously close to the footsteps of my lord and savior, Jesus Christ, I slowed down. Help the what? Those in need. No caveat.
Could be in pitch darkness. Middle of nowhere. To pick a strange old woman. Somebody say โHallelujah!!!!โ.
โWhere are you going, ma?โ I called out, window rolled down, charity written all over my face.
She replied something I couldnโt quite make out. It had heavy Yoruba inflections and my first thought was, sheโs speaking local.
Now, my grasp of the Yoruba language is not superb but I can make out a flow and meaning when I listen.
โEhn?โ, I asked to see if I could catch what she was communicating.
She said a few more wordsโฆ this time it was becoming increasingly erratic, incoherent even for a language Iโm not fluent in.
Her body language had shifted. The stride tightened. The eyes locked on; she was gearing upโฆ to do what? How am I supposed to know?๐ฉ
Before you judge her (hold your horse you judgmental elitist!), stress can make people act strange. Try walking a miles in her shoes!
Except she didnโt have any shoes.๐
Now, while I may be a fool, what I am not is a complete fool. I took a second at her again, this time to take her in and wouldnโt you know it; barefooted, which is mostly nothing. She could be training for a marathon. Kenyans do it!
Her bags were mostly rags and dirt, which isโฆ Eco-conscious? I guessโฆ Not everyone subscribes to papers and plastics.
Butโฆ
She was now erratically charging towards me. Why could this be??? Fcuk that! I donโt care for the why!
My brothers and sisters, it turned out I was dialoguing with a roaming mad person.
Not your regular mad, the one that af do gbim in the streets. A regular!
Listen, the makers of Toyota vehicles needed to see me make them proud because in the history of Toyota vehicles, vehicling; nobody has ever squeezed the velocity I squeeze out of that car!
One minute it was 0 km/h, the next it was 100 km/h.
I evaporated.
Put that car in the speed of light.

My first ever encounter with this man called Peter Obi was at 8:43am. I was late to school, and as i stood outside the gate waiting for the Labour prefect to bring brooms and show us where we to sweep, i saw this man casually walk into the school premises and ask me to take him to where our senior prefect was ๐
. He only came to the school cos he wanted to confirm by himself if the computers that was approved by the education board was actually sent to our school.
He didn't even come to see our principal who saw him from his office and rushed to greet him. Obi smiled, greeted and waved at him while still following our senior prefect to the computer room and checking it to be sure it worked properly.
After that, he went class by class, asking us what we needed. He didn't even come with an entourage or anything. Just him.
I don't think you understand how crazy it is to have the governor of your state casually walking into your school without any escort and assessing what needs to be done himself.
The next day, they brought us new ceiling fans and brand new chairs...
He set the bar so high in governance that if you tell random Nigerians that you could casually text your governor your problems or tune into ABS radio on a Tuesday evening to call in to his show and that your area would be immediately attended to or he'd explain to you why it hasn't yet been attended to.
Looking back, i think i understand better now why we Anambrarians didn't even say much online about Peter Obi, and that is because we were living so well and so fine we didn't even want outsiders to know how well we were enjoying ๐
. That's the only plausible explanation i can give.
We didn't give this man enough PR, although it is not entirely our fault cos he loved to live a low-key lifestyle, but at the same time... we had our mouths filled with enjoyment.
If you knew how bad things were from the Mbadinuju era, you'd understand that Obi did so well we couldn't even believe our luck. I guess we felt that if we publicly praised him too much, it might get into his head and he'd probably stop doing all these good things for us because it was too good to be true. But here we are, trading words online with people wey we no even suppose dey talk to at all ๐
MY VISIT TO THE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA
Today, I honoured the invitation of the newly inaugurated President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr. Eric Okoye, and other former Presidents of the Association to attend his inauguration ceremony at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
On the sidelines of the event, I interacted with the new President and members of MAN and reiterated the enormous potential of Nigeriaโs manufacturing sector.
With the right government policies, an enabling business environment, and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors, Nigeria can significantly increase the contribution of manufacturing to our GDP.
Manufacturing currently contributes about 7.5% of Nigeriaโs GDP, compared with about 14% in Egypt, 15% in Morocco, 25% in Vietnam, 19% in Indonesia, and 20% in Bangladesh
We must therefore deliberately move from a consumption-driven economy to a productive economy, one that produces, creates jobs, adds value and competes successfully in the global market.
A stronger manufacturing sector will expand employment opportunities, strengthen our productive capacity, reduce our dependence on imports, increase exports, and improve the standard of living of our people.
I congratulate the new President and his team and wish them a successful and productive tenure. I look forward to continued engagement with the manufacturing sector as we work towards building a more productive and prosperous Nigeria.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Not only that, these constructs actually say something about the character... and.......... frankly, they're precisely why Guy's milquetoast reaction to John Stewart telling him that he's just gonna keep Hal's ring is insanely bad writing.
Guy's actual response -- IN THIS VERY UNIVERSE -- would have been, "Sure ya are, buddy", followed by, well... this.
Hal's ring gets pulled out of John's hand and secured in an unbreakable container. John gets slapped into space by a giant middle finger. Guy flies up there to put John's half-frozen body in a green jail and hauls him off to Oa, where he tells the Guardians that John was going to steal the ring and use it with some unauthorized shit made by one of their greatest enemies... all while saying "GFY, junior".
Job done.
