everything nowadays is “dead this” and “RIP that”. That said, I see where he’s coming from. Also true of centrist politics
.@jayleno says the middle of the consumer market is disappearing, from cars to hotels to restaurants. "The middle is dead." "I see Porsche moving upscale and they want to be like Ferrari." "Everything is that way now. With hotels, you're either at the Motel 6 or the Four Seasons." "Restaurants are either fast food or top end restaurant." "We have no middle class anymore."

Just like that infamous 2018 clip of the Volkswagen exec dunking on Tesla.

Is the EU about to kill EU–INC? The @euinc_petition team have just released an update saying: "After two years of campaigning, recent negotiations are taking EU Inc in the wrong direction. Currently 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗨 𝗜𝗻𝗰 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 and 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 to attract talent (among many other aspects). Without it it’s questionable what’s left that will make it a standard" This could be one of the impactful changes to the European Tech ecosystem if it is delivered. At the moment it is not going to be. The team are asking any and everyone with "a direct connection to a Prime Minister or President" to reach out. They've shared a full statement and letter which I will link below. But now is the time to MAKE SOME NOISE 🇪🇺

At this point the whole EU Inc negotiations are so lost in the details that everyone forgot the main goal: Creating a standard. Basically, allow founders to raise quickly globally and use stock options to hire competitively. Let’s say it quite clearly: 1) If EU Inc isn’t providing a standard it’s useless. We already got 30+ legal entities in Europe. Experienced founders use Delaware Inc already because of this. 2) If EU Inc doesn’t fix stock options Delaware Inc is still the better option. I understand the there are complex details and people are worried about loopholes. But you can’t lose the actual goal of it because of it. An EU Inc that doesn't provide a standard is pointless. Nobody will care about intricacies of compromises reached in political committees if the market can't use the outcome. If you are in contact with your political leaders (prime ministers, presidents, et al) please reach out to them. Or to founders/investors in your network who might have that access. 🔥🇪🇺✌️ xitter.cf/euinc_petition/status/…
Europe’s founders need a European standard to compete globally from day one. Europe’s leaders committed to delivering one. But their teams are negotiating away the very things that make it one. There is still time to change course if Europe's Heads of State step in now.

These deep tech hype videos get me going 🔨🔨
Today, we're officially launching Colmez, backed by a16z @speedrun, Andreessen Horowitz's early-stage fund. The $248bn hazardous waste industry is broken. After Stanford and quant trading at SIG, I left to fix it. We just launched our private beta two weeks ago and are already working with 5 of the top 7 operators in the industry, including the largest environmental services companies in the world. Thank you to my incredible team, @brianxmeng1 and @numairarazzak , our speedrun partner, @JoshLu, and the @StartX community. If you want to build the backbone of America’s industrial infrastructure, we’re hiring.

Anyone doing something similar in Germany? 🇩🇪 A ''forward deployed'' AI venture builder for the Mittelstand?
Today, we're launching Foundry Management, formed by @a16z and Atlas Holdings to help founders build AI companies inside the industrial world. The hardest constraint in physical-world industries is often not the technology, but getting close enough to mission-critical work to understand what should be built. Foundry gives you a place to begin. We recruit a small, select group of some of the top technologists and give them premiere access to the Atlas portfolio, representing $26B in annual revenue across metals, paper, packaging, building products, automotive supply chains, energy, and logistics. You'll work alongside the operators and management at these businesses to build products and technologies that unleash AI in these industrial contexts. When it demonstrates the potential for an independent business, a16z and Atlas will support its creation, with you leading it as founder and CEO. There’s a great deal of the future left to build inside the industries already around us. Come build it with us: talent@foundrymgt.com
