Had a wonderful day at the #Englishhub national event. Minister of Education Rt Hon @NickGibbUK MP opened the event. Really enjoyed working with the other English Hubs.

And every experienced teacher in the system is eligible for a fully funded literacy qualification (NPQ Leading Literacy). These are available nationwide - and I’d encourage teachers to take up the offer. The course has an entire chapter dedicated to developing language:

Last week, teachers from 20 #IsleofWight primary schools came together to plan how we can help #IOW children to read better 📖
They were supported by folks from @HubSpringhill, @educationgovuk and @Ofstednews.
I was privileged to join them.

I’m encouraging all #IOW primary head teachers, to contact @HubSpringhill or @educationgovuk or myself to find out more about the support available to Island primary school teachers.
It’s so important we give children the best start in life.
