@NemaKenya has intensified its nationwide crackdown on the banned plastic carrier and flat bags. In a recent operation, enforcement officers raided a facility in Njiru, Nairobi, where illegal plastics bags were being manufactured and arrested five (5) suspects, including the facility’s owner. The team seized 90,695 single-use banned plastic bags and the suspects were booked at the South B Police Station and thereafter released on cash bail pending arraignment at Kibera Law Courts.

Factors to consider before joining a SACCO
1. Reputation. Research how long the Sacco has been operating, any red flags, and members' experiences.
Members' experiences will help you learn the good and bad of the Sacco. If you see any red flags do due diligence.

Climate change is reshaping the conditions in which women experience pregnancy and access care.
🌡️ Heat → increased risk of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia
🌾 Drought → reduced dietary diversity and increased risk of maternal anaemia
🌧️ Flooding → disrupted access, delayed referrals and interrupted care
🦟 Climate variability → changing malaria risks during pregnancy
Protecting maternal health in a changing climate means preparing health systems before disruption happens: keeping services accessible, referrals moving and essential medicines and diagnostics available.
Climate resilience is maternal health resilience.

Nairobi did not need the Expressway nearly as much as it needed mass transit. We spent roughly $668 million building a 27 km toll road in a city where only about 13% of trips are made by car, while 41% are by bus or matatu and another 40% are on foot. Imagine if an investment of that scale had instead gone into a tram or light-rail line along the same corridor, integrated with buses and matatus. Addis Ababa built 34 km of light rail for $475 million, while Casablanca chose to build an extensive tram network that moves ordinary residents across the city. Nairobi could have been thinking along the same lines: infrastructure designed to move the greatest number of people, not simply the greatest number of cars. Uhuru Kenyatta is often praised for giving Nairobi the Expressway, but perhaps we should ask who exactly was it built for? Nairobi’s elites who can afford to drive and pay the toll, or the common mwananchi who depends on public transport every single day?

I hear doping was not a factor. They simply realised Brits come to Kenya to train, then Kenyans go to London to beat them. So they decided to bring the training and the beating under one roof. Nairobi 2029. 😂🏃🏿♂️🇰🇪

A Kenyan who can attack a peaceful Burundian or Congolese brother simply trying to earn a living will also attack a fellow Kenyan if the opportunity arises in 2027. May Peace, Love and Unity be with us.
