The BBC is ending You and Yours after more than 50 years, although it says a replacement consumer programme is planned this is a real shame.
Consumer journalism matters: it challenges poor service, exposes scams and gives people a voice.
We need MORE consumer-rights coverage, not less

People discuss endlessly where the line sits between antisemitism and anti-Israel. But sometimes, there is no line at all: such as calling for an intifada outside the office of a leading Jewish organisation on Oct 7 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqev…
My thoughts are with the Jewish community and the families of the Nova victims on this sad day. #WeWillDanceAgain

This week we mark 3 years since the #October7th massacre. TAU lost 124 students, staff, alumni, and family members on that day and in the ensuing wars. Together with the people of Israel everywhere, we mourn their loss among all those who perished. May their memory be a blessing.

We will be playing my version of 'We Will Dance Again' at 4.20 am tomorrow morning on Boy George FM. It will be 6.20 in Israel. We will play it again later but I want to honour the victims of the Nova Festival. If you want to hear it maybe get an early night. Tomorrow is a special and very sad day. Never forget!

That wording genuinely disgusts me. “The safest way possible for all”? John isn’t a danger to anyone.
My son has Tourette’s and has vocal tics that can be extremely offensive. Is he somehow a danger to people because a neurological misfire causes him to involuntarily say words that make them uncomfortable?
I’ve said it before. Tourette’s is the ultimate test of inclusion. It’s easy to preach acceptance when a disability is comfortable and convenient. The moment Tourette’s does what Tourette’s actually does, far too many people suddenly decide the person with the disability is the problem.
John shouldn’t be treated as a safety risk because of an involuntary vocal tic.
This outcome only makes sense if you are the type of person who believes you are ‘unsafe’ when exposed to people’s words; in this instance symptomatic of a well known medical condition. What has happened seems to be that the person with a condition recognised as a disability is themselves vulnerable to a public flogging by people who should know better, rendering their physical presence in a room with them best avoided. Tells you quite a lot about ‘progressive’ society today.

This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

The older I get, the more I understand why some people slowly let go of their dreams, lose their spark, or end up feeling lost.
It’s rarely because they’re lazy, weak, or incapable.
Life has a way of wearing people down in ways that aren't always visible. Years of disappointment, heartbreak, financial stress, responsibility, rejection, grief, and unmet expectations can quietly drain the energy that once fueled them.
Some people aren't lacking ambition.
They're carrying burdens you can't see.
That's why I've learned to be slower to judge and quicker to show compassion. You never know what battles someone has fought just to make it through another day.
Sometimes the strongest people aren't the ones chasing every dream.
They're the ones who keep going even after life has given them every reason to stop.
