Really excited to see this paper finally out! It was a full lab field trip to re-sample an experiment we started in 2003. Replacement of #Phalaris arundinacea with swamp forest is underway. Three cheers for long-term data!
Spraying glyphosate (late fall), then planting bareroot woody species at high densities (early spring) converts reed canarygrass field to young swamp forest 🌱
This breaks feedbacks and jumpstarts stalled succession from #invasive species dominance! 📈

Just read this great article by @mcewanlab on Callery Pear on the Conversation (thanks google news feed!). Really nice overview of this invasive species introduced broadly by the landscaping industry and now spreading to natural areas in our region!

Really interesting review on what motivates people to volunteer for invasive species control/management projects! Complete with suggestions for running such groups effectively. Great read!
Knowing the importance of #CitizenScience in the study and management of #BiologicalInvasions, we analyzed and discussed the #motivations guiding #volunteers to engage in #InvasiveAlienSpecies monitoring and control.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in doing a meta-analysis!
If you are an ecologist contemplating your first meta-analysis, I will be giving a free webinar hosted by @ana_pineda_ on January 14th about benefits of meta-analysis for #ECR, things to consider before you start and common mistakes to avoid ifocusandwrite.lpages.co/gue…
