I am honored to host Metrocrest Services, United Way of Texas, United Way of Greater Austin, Houston Food Bank, and Raise Texas for a briefing on a very important topic: When a Raise Means Less: Addressing the Benefits Cliff in Texas.
Across our state, many hardworking Texans face an unintended challenge: modest increases in income can lead to disproportionate reductions in public benefits. This “benefits cliff” can disrupt financial stability and create barriers to long-term economic independence. Our goal is to bring attention to this issue and explore meaningful, bipartisan solutions.
