I thank the Christians of the Diocese of Soroti for working so hard under the leadership of my brother Bishop Kosea Odongo to build a magnificent St Peter’s Cathedral Soroti which we consecrated today. I was also delighted to inspect the nursery bed for the Diocese today morning in response to @ChurchofUganda_’s 15 million tree campaign spearheaded by @HCT_Direcorate . I also thank the Diocese for building a state-of-the-art guesthouse and children’s Church at the Cathedral which I also commissioned today morning. There is a lot of great progress in the Diocese and I am greatly impressed.

Kisanja no sleep should also apply to unserious ministers. Such a minister who suspends a Doctor for speaking while pocketing should be sacked immediately.

Yesterday I had the privilege of preaching at St Mark’s Mitcham on “The Power of Prayer.” Later, my wife and I joined worship at @HTClapham, once the spiritual home of the Clapham Sect. Led by William Wilberforce, these late-18th and early-19th-century evangelical reformers fought to end the slave trade, advanced social reform, and promoted Christian missions, including Henry Venn (a founder of the Church Missionary Society) and his grandson John Venn. A powerful reminder of how faith and prayer can transform society.

Happy 64 years of resilience, courage, and the extraordinary spirit of the Ugandan people. To my fellow Ugandans at home and across the world, especially our vibrant community here in China, I celebrate you🇺🇬🇨🇳 Uganda is not just a country. It is a story. A story told in the richness of our coffee and the soil it grows in. In the misty forests where mountain gorillas still roam. In the Source of the Nile, the vast savannahs, and the 56 tribes that make us one of the most beautifully diverse nations on earth. It is a story that is also being written in boardrooms in Guangzhou, in trade agreements, in investment partnerships, and in every Ugandan far from home who refuses to stop dreaming. Whether you are a student, a professional, a business owner, or simply chasing something bigger, you are already part of Uganda’s next chapter. Every relationship you build, every door you open, is an investment in the country we love. Uganda is ready. Ready for trade, for partnership, for the world. As we mark this day, let us not only honor what our forebears built. Let us take responsibility for what we will hand on. Happy 64th Independence Day, my beautiful Uganda🌍 #Uganda64 #IndependenceDay #PearlOfAfrica #UgandaInChina

Dear all, I have learnt with concern about the unfortunate incident of the collapse of River Mucha Bridge that connects Bukimbiri County from Bufumbira County. I am in touch with the Ministry of Works and Transport, and District authorities to have a short-term solution as we wait for a long-term solution as soon as possible.

Last evening, I accompanied my dear wife, Anita Rukundo, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she presented her Letters of Credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Amb. Adonia Ayebare, as the Honorary Consul of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in Uganda. She spoke about the importance of strengthening Uganda-Bahamas relations, particularly by tapping into The Bahamas’ expertise in tourism to grow Uganda’s tourism sector. She noted that The Bahamas attracted more than 12.5 million tourists in 2025, earning over US$5.27 billion, compared to Uganda’s tourism earnings of about US$1.6 billion. She underscored the need for Uganda to learn from and partner with The Bahamas. Her priorities include promoting joint marketing, tourism exchanges, and partnerships among travel agencies, hotels, airlines, tour operators and tourism authorities. I know her potential and that's why she took on this critical voluntary task where she must devote her time and resources. Congratulations, Anita! Many thanks @CeasorMulenga and @wekesa_amos for joining us.

It was a joy to worship this Sunday with fellow followers of Jesus at St. Peter’s, Yateley, in Hampshire. The message focused on following Jesus’ example of humility, sacrificial love, and obedience.
