Being an exceptionally talented musician is one thing. But to stand before such high-caliber fellow musicians, a large audience, and cameras—all while remaining composed, communicating skillfully and effectively, showing genuine enjoyment, and staying focused on the creative process—that is what truly amazes me.

On behalf of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, I’m launching a new initiative for children and young people with hearing loss. On Sunday, September 27, Project H.O.P.E. comes to the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, in cooperation with Fondation Juchum. Music should be something we can all experience, explore and share. Through sound laboratories, music and conversation, we want to open up new ways of experiencing sound and hearing. The extraordinary Dame Evelyn Glennie will join us virtually, while Prof. Dr. Ellen Reisinger, a leading researcher in genetic hearing loss and gene therapies for deafness, will be with us in person, alongside other distinguished experts in the field, including Peter Keller, Professor at the Center for Music in the Brain, Aarhus University; Paul Van de Heyning, Professor Emeritus of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Antwerp and Antwerp University Hospital; and Jesper Andersen of the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Project H.O.P.E. stands for Hearing. Opportunity. Progress. Empowerment. Admission is free, and sign language interpretation will be provided at the conference. Very honoured to be a guest on Living the Creative Life. In Part One of my conversation with Zsolt Bognár, we talk about Yehudi Menuhin — his extraordinary radiance, charisma and humanity, and the profound impact he had on my life, both musically and personally. Thank you, Zsolt, for such a thoughtful and enjoyable conversation. Part One is out now — with more to come! youtu.be/VznYkSdA2iU?is=cUE9…

This weekend, we proudly launch The Summit 2026 – one of the first cultural summits of its kind in Switzerland. Created by the Menuhin Festival Gstaad and inspired by Yehudi Menuhin’s belief that artists have a responsibility beyond the stage, The Summit brings together leading voices from culture, business, media and technology to explore one essential question: How can culture shape the future? Hosted by Setsuko Klossowska de Rola at the extraordinary Grand Chalet Balthus in Rossinière, and presented in partnership with Forbes Swiss, the programme features an exceptional international line-up of speakers and panellists, including Ilona Schmiel, Marco Malagodi, Germinal Roux, Matthias Schulz, Clemens Trautmann, Jessica Lustig, Babette Nierenz, Patricia Ernst, Peter Gartiser, Jakub Fiebig, Paweł Jabłoński, Antonin Scherrer, Fouad Skali, and others. Three days of ideas, dialogue and inspiration as we launch what we hope will become a new annual platform for cultural leadership and international exchange. 📍 Grand Chalet Balthus, Rossinière 📅 24–26 July 2026 More information: lnkd.in/edbtPEig Programme: lnkd.in/eEDTTEyB #TheSummit #MenuhinFestivalGstaad #DanielHope #Culture #Leadership #ThoughtLeadership #ClassicalMusic #Innovation #Arts #ForbesSwiss #Gstaad – at Saanen, Switzerland

Mrs Brown claims Beethoven dictated new music to her from beyond the grave. The BBC makes a serious documentary. Beethoven corrects her mistakes. And people say classical music has an image problem. #MontyPython @JohnCleese eat your heart out.

Excited to head out on a major German tour again this February together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. At the heart of the tour is our passionate, highly virtuosic programme “Mozart: Passion” – featuring Haydn’s incomparable “La Passione” Symphony alongside works by Mozart and Chevalier de Bologne. At the same time, we’re looking forward to two very special evenings: on 12 February in Freiburg and 13 February in Mannheim, we’ll be bringing our programme “America!” to the stage, with music by Gershwin, Bernstein, Kurt Weill and Florence Price. Returning to familiar places is always special – as are the encounters with our wonderful audiences. See you on the road! #zurichchamberorchestra #zkoontour #mozartpassion #amerika #violinhope #danielhope

Experiencing Jacob Collier alone on stage tonight at Schloss Elmau was very special. The sheer magnitude of his harmonic imagination, the freedom with which he glides between worlds and instruments, and perhaps most strikingly, his completely natural rapport with the audience felt less like a performance and more like a shared act of discovery. Nothing forced or calculated — just curiosity, joy, and an open invitation to listen differently. Pure music. @SchlossElmau1 @jacobcollier
