Czwarty szok:
Weterani.
Siedzą, piją piwo, rozmawiają.
Dwa stoliki dalej podobna sytuacja.
No i usłyszałem, że to oni postawią piwo mnie.
Przysiadłem się bliżej i pytam: dlaczego? Przecież to ja jestem wdzięczny im.
Bo żona jednego z nich i narzeczona drugiego mogły znaleźć schronienie w Polsce.

Not so long ago Christians were being told not to wear a cross at work, the NHS was one place where it happened. Now we are being told that carrying a knife is permitted if you are a Sikh. The contrast is stark and utterly indefensible.

While I was briefly back in the US, I was disheartened by how many would say "oh is that still going on?" when referring to the war in Ukraine.
It was incredibly frustrating for me especially as an active duty medic in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At that point its just willful ignorance. Everyone has a cellphone, laptop, tablet, etc. Information is literally at your finger tips. But instead of informing oneself properly, the choice seems to be watching AI slop, mainstream media, and other short attention span apps.
The was is not over, it has not slowed down, we are still working and fighting for freedom in Ukraine, the frontline is still 1000 km long, civilians are still being killed by r*ssia every day. We can only go so far to inform you. The rest is up to you. Up to date sources, @KyivIndependent @KyivPost @saintjavelin @U24_gov_ua

Does anyone besides the residents of Crimea still remember what it was like before 2014? I do.
There were functioning airports and international companies. The IT sector was growing rapidly. International banking services, normal roaming, Apple Store, McDonald's, and JYSK were all available.
Cruise ships and yachts from around the world visited Crimean ports.
Researchers from the Nikitsky Botanical Garden traveled freely to Europe on business trips, doctors attended international conferences, and children participated in exchange programs and global competitions, often winning prizes.
The peninsula welcomed around six million tourists from various countries every year.
Remember the international festivals? The legendary Kazantip, Yalta Rally, and countless other events.
Ukrainian winemaking was thriving as well — the Esse brand alone was something special.
Decent resorts and hotels, such as Santa Barbara, operated across the coast. Today, many of those places have a very different atmosphere.
There were Silpo supermarkets where you could choose from five varieties of feta cheese.
All of this was sacrificed for the so-called "safe harbor," transforming a flourishing peninsula into a gray military outpost.
There was affordable fuel, fresh water from the Dnipro, and unrestricted internet access.
There was no bridge, no talk of "stones from the sky," and no thousands of fresh graves bearing the dates 2022–2026.

I am fucking ashamed of my government for weakening sanctions against ruSSian oil.
For what?
Cheap summer holidays.
Fuck that.
Ukrainians are dying so we can take our holidays in peace.
And this is how we repay them?
Shameful.

24 dead in Kyiv—including three children—following yesterday’s Russian attack.
Another 48 people were injured. Today is a day of mourning in the capital.
And here is a quick refresher for supporters of Russia: Russia started this war in violation of international law; Ukraine is defending itself.
But you idiots will never understand that.

Could you imagine the international uproar if Ukraine spent 15 hours sending 1500 missiles and drones into population centers all over Russia, mainly into apartment buildings, killing 15 people, including children?
Russia just did this, and no one cares, especially the White House.

Russia has launched a massive attack on Ukraine, days after a @POTUS brokered ceasefire.
Civilians are dead, buried under rubble. Homes have been destroyed.
Putin yet again has shown that he is not interested in peace. But Ukraine’s resilience will not be broken. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has attacked Ukraine with approximately 1,300 drones and 50 missiles.
In addition to the capital, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv—as well as the Odesa region—also came under fire.
This is because, after more than four years, Europe still has not grasped that Russian production facilities must be destroyed in order to end this war. Ukraine needs more long-range weapons.
