A look at the financial information of a taxpayer funded charter school in Minnesota called Lionsgate Academy shows it’s getting $33.4 million with ONLY 150 STUDENTS ENROLLED
“Graduation rate, 23%…. $34 million, they can't read or write, and their graduation rate is 23%. Why does this school exist? — What is it serving”
I looked into it and confirmed that of their over $33 million dollars in annual funding, 99% comes from taxpayers

John sees AI already showing up in new company creation. Stripe is seeing its highest rate of new firm creation in recent memory, while its 2026 Atlas cohort is tracking at 5x the revenue of the 2025 class.

NEW: Cboe is considering listing perpetual futures tied to its Volatility Index once there is greater regulatory clarity for the products in the U.S., Rob Hocking, global head of derivatives at Cboe, said Wednesday during a panel at the Bloomberg Intelligence Derivatives Market Structure Conference in New York.
Cboe already offers VIX futures and options, but there is no way to trade the index's cash level directly. Hocking said perpetual futures could provide a solution.

BREAKING: Global debt jumped by more than +$10 trillion in H1 2026, to a record $365 trillion.
Emerging-market debt drove the increase, rising +$6.5 trillion, to a record $110 trillion, with most of the surge coming from governments and non-financial companies.
Excluding China, emerging-market and developing-economy debt soared to a record $38 trillion.
Global debt now stands at ~310% of global GDP, although the ratio has fallen -25 percentage points from its early-2021 peak, largely because inflation has boosted nominal GDP rather than because of deleveraging.
Meanwhile, developed economies paid more than $3.3 trillion in interest on marketable government debt over the last year, exceeding estimated global spending on AI at $2.6 trillion, defense at $3.1 trillion, and clean energy at $2.3 trillion.
This comes as annual government interest payments across the G7 alone surged +85% YoY.
The global debt crisis is in uncharted territory.
