Honor Flight is free to all American veterans. Flights are filled with men and women from the earliest eras first. Those with catastrophic illness from any era receive priority. World War II veterans and Korean War veterans will travel before those of more recent eras.
Honor Flight Rochester has now taken more than 5,100 veterans to Washington, D.C.
And we're still looking.
If you served during World War II, Korea, the Cold War or Vietnam era through 1975, it's your turn.
If you served 1976–1989, apply now and join the pipeline

for our future missions.
And if you're reading this because you love a veteran who won't apply for themselves:
Help us find them.
Send them this post.
Sit down with them.
Talk to them about Honor Flight.
Encourage them to apply.
More than 5,100 veterans already said yes.
When Honor Flight Rochester began in 2008, the mission was simple: honor our veterans by taking them to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.
We just closed out our 2026 flying year and completed Mission 99.

One more veteran we haven't found yet.
One more story we haven't heard.
One more veteran who keeps saying, “Take someone else.”
If you served through 1975, we are looking for you.
Make Mission 100 a reason to apply—not a reason to wait.
Next spring we will reach an extraordinary milestone:
Honor Flight Rochester's 100th Mission.
But the number that matters most isn't 100.
It's one.
This post isn't for veterans.
It's for you.
Your dad. Your mom. Your grandfather. Your grandmother. Your uncle. Your aunt. Your neighbor. Your former coworker. Your friend.
Who is your veteran?

If they served through 1975, encourage them to apply now.
If they served 1976–1989, encourage them to get their application in for the future.
Sometimes an Honor Flight starts because one person cared enough to ask.
Someone you know served our country decades ago and has never taken an Honor Flight.
They may never apply on their own.
So ask them.
“Have you ever taken your Honor Flight?”
