Partick Thistle have been the nearly men of Scottish football in recent seasons. They always seem to find one team that’s just that wee bit better in their quest to get back to the Premiership. But is that the real reason or is there something more sinister going on? Something that stretches back to a time before the club even took up residency at Firhill? Truth or urban legend? In conjunction with @NutmegMagazine, Row Z investigates Partick Thistle and The Haunted Goalmouth.

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

This is a brilliant piece by Sam Phipps

🏁 Two games for @AyrUnitedFC. ⚽️ 4 points. But… 27% possession against a very good Dunfermline side. Though was that just because we were really bad? 2 shots on target last week against Livingston and 2 goals. Harry Stone the hero again yesterday.

The main positive is that we're starting to look solid at the back which is how you build teams. Just need more flair and control in midfield. Good to see Murphy and Rus on the pitch yesterday.

Robbie Ure will be one of those hoping to make a name for himself tonight at Hampden. But what about big Ian Ure (no relation), unfairly traduced in Fever Pitch and whose deeds - including playing in 6-2 win for Scotland over Spain - deserve to be recognised.
In Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch, Ian Ure was depicted as a hapless figure at Arsenal. From Issue 6, @alan_pattullo discovered Ure had a deeper story than the one portrayed in Hornby's 1992 classic. Read here 👉 tinyurl.com/4atf63e6

A fresh take on our final single, "All Join Hands." This version only ever existed as an instrumental outtake. Norman has extracted the backing vocals from the single and added a new lead vocal, as the original always made him cringe - too many bad edits! tinyurl.com/56wtntj6

It’s amazing what you can find in a Haddington charity shop. The only book by @lawrencedonegan that I’ve not read. And in hardback too
