Tolerance has nothing to do with agreement.
Real tolerance means being at peace in spite of disagreement.

How much evidence should girls have to provide before their safety, privacy and boundaries matter to the adults making the rules?
Watch Benjamin Larrabee hold up news reports documenting harm as he addresses the Peoria Unified School District board in Arizona. This is three years old, why are we still having to have these debates?!

George Orwell Would Have a Field Day in Canada Today
George Orwell understood something politicians would rather we forget: control the language and you can influence how people think.
Look at Canadian politics.
Borrowed money becomes an “investment.”
More government spending becomes “compassion.”
Preferential treatment becomes “equity.”
Political disagreement becomes “division.”
Unpopular opinions become “misinformation.”
Government failures become excuses for expanding government authority.
And when citizens question the official narrative, too often the response is to attack their motives rather than answer their arguments.
Orwell warned us about political language designed to conceal reality rather than explain it.
Our media should be challenging that language, especially publicly funded broadcasters such as the CBC. Journalism should hold government accountable, regardless of which party holds power.
Canada is not Orwell’s 1984. We still have democratic elections, independent courts, and freedom to criticize our government. Those distinctions matter.
But democracy requires more than the right to vote every few years. It requires citizens willing to question authority, demand evidence, and reject political double standards.
I don’t care whether it’s Liberal, Conservative, or NDP. Apply the same standards to everyone.
Orwell’s lesson is simple: When politicians change the meaning of words, citizens need to pay closer attention to the facts.
A government that cannot defend its policies without manipulating language deserves more scrutiny, not more trust.
Think for yourself. Question authority. Demand evidence.
That’s how you keep a free country free.
Shame on every adult allowing this to happen. Amazing what these girls are doing but they shouldn’t have to.
BREAKING: Nearly half of the girls cross-country team in Camas, Washington, just forfeited their race. They refused to compete against a boy. This is bravery. Vote YES on I-638 to stand with them. Video: @KnownHeretic

Female athletes are speaking out about their concerns over the fairness and safety of having biological males compete in women’s sports.
The Liberal Secretary of Sport turns a blind eye to their concerns, dismissing them as a “simply stupid, conservative pseudo fantasy.”
Women’s voices continue to be dismissed and ignored, raising the question: when will the Liberals start listening to the women directly affected by these policies?

At first, Jean-Pierre did not understand.
He watched the evening news, paid his taxes, voted responsibly and believed what respectable people told him.
1. France needed immigration because the economy needed workers.
2. Diversity was an opportunity.
3. Public services were under pressure because they lacked funding.
4. Disorder at school was caused by inequality.
5. Crime statistics required context.
6. Anyone who connected these things too quickly was probably an extremist.
Then his children started coming home from school saying they could barely hear the teacher.
Half the lesson was spent restoring order.
Teachers changed constantly.
Some simply disappeared for weeks.
Jean-Pierre complained once, politely.
The administration explained that the situation was “challenging” and that the school was developing an “inclusive pedagogical response.”
Jean-Pierre went home reassured.
There were professionals dealing with it.
His neighbourhood changed too.
Shops closed.
Others appeared.
Groups of men occupied the same corners every evening.
His wife stopped taking one street after dark.
Jean-Pierre noticed all of this, but he had also learned that noticing patterns was dangerous.
So every event remained an isolated event.
One closed shop meant nothing.
One assault meant nothing.
Ten incidents meant ten unrelated incidents.
Only a racist would connect dots.
Then his daughter was sexually assaulted by a man who had recently arrived in France.
Jean-Pierre was devastated.
But almost immediately he began policing his own thoughts.
The attacker was an individual. Of course.
One must never generalise.
The television explained that exploiting such crimes politically was irresponsible.
A minister warned against “stigmatisation.”
Jean-Pierre found himself nodding through tears.
What had happened to his daughter was monstrous, but the truly frightening possibility, apparently, was that somebody somewhere might vote for the wrong party because of it.
Nothing changed.
His son’s school became worse.
His daughter stopped going out alone.
His wife wanted to move.
The police were exhausted.
The teachers were exhausted.
The hospitals were exhausted.
Jean-Pierre was exhausted.
Yet every explanation he had been given required him to believe that each deterioration was temporary, accidental, exaggerated or caused by something entirely unrelated to the deterioration immediately beside it.
And whenever somebody proposed that perhaps the country had made serious mistakes — about migration, authority, education, policing, integration, punishment or borders — Jean-Pierre knew the correct answer.
“Careful. That sounds like the far right.”
So he remained reasonable.
He remained moderate.
He remained informed.
He remained completely incapable of drawing a conclusion from his own life.
So at first, Jean-Pierre did not understand.
And he still does not understand.

I like him.
He has acted like a proper man, spoken like a proper man and resisted the swamp of moderately talented naysayers like a proper man.
He is a proper chap.
Good on him.
Everyone is focused on what buzzwords Ed Sheeran used to describe the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
For what it’s worth, I think his statement was nuanced and reflected actual thought, as well as his signature empathy.
But what struck me 100x more was his statement at the end of the concert.
He’s not reading from a script. He’s speaking from the heart, about what’s actually most important to him, the thing that actually drives him as an artist.
Love.
Love for his fans, for his craft, for music’s ability to bring people together who come from different backgrounds and don’t agree on a thing.
He speaks about how many people urged him to cancel his show. But he wouldn’t, because he knows behind every ticket is a fan, a family, and a story of travelling to see a show.
For me, this speech made his words about the victims of the Nova Festival on October 7th, which he spoke about at the beginning of the show, that much more powerful.
He also touched on his relief that the event went on safely, calling America “a dangerous place.” It's a heartbreaking sentence. After the week Sheeran had, for him, it's true.
When people are sending you death threats every minute, appearing in front of 50k people isn’t capitulation. It’s courage.
For all the accusations that Sheeran didn’t know what to say, he seems remarkably clear-eyed about the things that actually matter.

The judge found five years was appropriate, but reduced the sentence because the offender faces deportation.
ENOUGH! We need a justice system that puts victims first.
