Through the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP2), we have upgraded key roads in Kalolo, Kibaoni, Baya Magonzi and Mtaani in Kilifi Town. The works include Msenangu Butchery Road, Kibaoni Primary School Road, Uwanja wa Water–Kaya Road and Samaki Poa Road, complemented by improved drainage, street lighting and footpaths. For residents, this means easier access to schools, homes and businesses, safer movement and reduced flooding risks. Our commitment remains clear: no community should be left behind as we build a safer, more accessible and prosperous Kilifi. #𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐭𝐮

We must stand together, mentor one another, and amplify each other’s voices as we work towards a future where women’s leadership is the norm, not the exception. Let us turn solidarity into action and ensure more women take their rightful place in leadership H.E @AnneWaiguru @unwomenkenya – at Nairobi, Kenya

DAY 8 OF 20 | JONATHAN DANIEL MTURI FROM RIBE TO THE HELM OF KENYA’S TRANSPORT INSTITUTIONS Greatness often begins in the most humble places. Today, we celebrate Jonathan Daniel Mturi, a son of Ribe, Kilifi County, whose distinguished career took him to the leadership of two of Kenya’s most important transport institutions. From his early service with the East African Railways and Harbours system, Mturi rose to become Port Manager of Mombasa and later Managing Director of the Kenya Ports Authority, playing a leadership role in a sector vital to Kenya’s trade and economic growth. His service extended to the railways when, in 2008, President Mwai Kibaki appointed him Chairman of the Kenya Railways Corporation. Two critical sectors. One remarkable journey of service. Through his leadership, Mturi contributed to institutions that connect Kenya to regional and international markets, facilitate commerce and support livelihoods. His story is a reminder that Kilifi’s contribution to nation-building extends far beyond our county’s borders. As Governor, I honour Jonathan Daniel Mturi for his distinguished public service and the example he set for generations to come. From Ribe to the nation, his legacy remains a source of pride for Kilifi.

DAY 7 OF 20 | PROF. JAY KITSAO THE SCHOLAR WHO GAVE KISWAHILI A VOICE Today, we celebrate Prof. Jay Kitsao, a distinguished son of Kilifi whose scholarship helped elevate Kiswahili as a language of knowledge, literature and intellectual thought. A renowned scholar, linguist, teacher, writer and mentor, Prof. Kitsao devoted his life to advancing Kiswahili and nurturing generations of learners. His works, including Tazama Mbele, Uasi, Bibi Arusi, Malimwengu Ulimwenguni, Mafarakano na Michezo Mingine and Mbinu za Uandishi, enriched Kiswahili literature and education. He wrote. He researched. He taught. He mentored. Through his work, Prof. Kitsao demonstrated that Kiswahili is more than the language we speak, it carries our knowledge, tells our stories and preserves our identity. As Governor of Kilifi, I proudly honour Prof. Jay Kitsao, a son of our soil whose words, scholarship and influence continue to live through generations. Kilifi remembers. Kilifi celebrates its heroes.

2,500 women triaged. 1,788 screened and 603 received surgery. Behind these numbers are women whose health, dignity and lives are being restored. Through the Integrated Fistula Programme, women in Kilifi, Bungoma, Migori and Kiambu have also received psychosocial support to support their reintegration. But camps alone aren't enough. Today in Malindi, @KilifiCountyGov,@MPESA_FDN @FDSAfrica, @Amref_Kenya and the @cfla_kenya discussed the need to make fistula care part of routine health services. This week, that commitment continues at Marafa Sub-County Hospital, where an ongoing fistula camp is supporting women to access care. The goal is not just to treat fistula, but to build a system that finds, treats and supports women and helps them rebuild their lives. #FistulaInatibika
