“This structural shortfall requires a structural solution, not stopgap measures that will simply kick the problem another year down the road… Seattle needs and deserves new progressive revenue to help meet our city’s commitments as soon as possible." theurbanist.org/2024/09/25/h…
"what the Mayor is proposing is a permanent “structural change” to how JumpStart revenue is used at the City, funding an individual administration’s priorities ahead of the long-term needs around affordable housing and climate change."

Vote NO on Initiative 2117!
seattletimes.com/seattle-new…
The potential effects of a repeal of the Climate Commitment Act go beyond budget sheets. For the Quinault Indian Nation, Initiative 2117 holds hostage an entire forest and an unfulfilled multigenerational dream.
Earlier this year, the Legislature appropriated $25 million from carbon market revenue for the tribe to buy back an 11,000-acre parcel of the reservation, the last large privately owned portion, Johnston said. But that money would disappear if Initiative 2117 passes.
We need your voice! It's time to email your councilmembers about the Seattle 2025-2026 budget! actionnetwork.org/letters/se…
Your voice is critical to win a budget that respects essential workers and provides real support to people experiencing homelessness.
