So proud of Albertans for proving yet again that we are true Canadian patriots with the resounding vote for national unity!
We are a province of dreamers, builders, and doers. We are optimists with an entrepreneurial culture. That’s why Alberta has never been fertile soil for the separatists’ inward-looking divisiveness, anger, and recrimination.
Now let’s get on with the hard work of building an ever stronger Alberta in the true North, strong and free! 💪🏼🇨🇦

To the Leave campaign: accept these results and keep Alberta out of the NDP’s hands.
Notley and her caucus were worse for Albertans than Trudeau. Nenshi would plunge us into another decade of darkness.
Put the guns down. Stop fighting each other. Keep Alberta conservative.

A strong Alberta in a united Canada. Not a slogan... but what needs to happen.

This is truly heartfelt! For years, the Princess Pats were intensely engaged at British Army bases helping prepare thousands of Ukrainian troops to defend their country against Russian aggression. The quality of that training is a key reason why the Russians have been stalled.
Every loss of life is a tragedy. Canada has done so much to help us protect lives in Ukraine, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and all Canadians following the explosion and fire at the military base in Wainwright. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those lost, and we wish a swift recovery to the injured.

Alberta voters have overwhelmingly chosen a stronger, more prosperous future for their province by remaining in Canada.
I’m thrilled by the decisive support Albertans have shown for the country we all love. Now it’s up to the rest of Canada to deliver on our commitment to Alberta by building new pipelines, unlocking our natural resources and unleashing the prosperity that will protect the future of Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

Behind these bleary eyes is a guy excited to join @YourMorning to talk about the message Albertans sent in yesterday’s referendum. What does Premier @ABDanielleSmith do with the strong mandate she received? And is now a good time for me to get some sleep?

Albertans have decisively voted for a stronger Alberta within a united Canada.
The promise of Canada is worth fighting for.
Now our focus must be on results in people’s lives: affordable food and homes, safe streets, strong borders, and less immigration.
And may God keep our land glorious and free.

🚨 ALBERTA REFERENDUM RESULTS
Alberta votes to REMAIN in Canada.
Roughly 76% chose to stay.
About 24% backed starting the legal process toward a binding separation vote.
In Edmonton, the stay side hit nearly 85%.
Turnout was MASSIVE.
Over 3.1 million eligible voters, more than 500,000 mail in ballots, and record early voting.
Early counts are still coming in, so these are the leading results, not final:
On immigration and elections, Albertans are voting YES:
More provincial control over immigration?
YES
Limiting taxpayer-funded services to citizens, PRs and approved status?
YES
A 12 month residency requirement before accessing social supports?
YES
A fee for non-permanent residents using healthcare and education?
YES
Proof of citizenship to vote in provincial elections?
YES
Starting the legal process toward separation?
NO
Abolishing the Senate?
NO
Provincial laws overriding federal laws in shared areas?
NO
Provinces appointing their own judges?
NO
Letting provinces opt out of federal programs while keeping the funding?
NO
Read that split carefully.
ALBERTANS ARE NOT SEPARATISTS BUT THEY ARE DONE WITH OPEN & IRRESPONSIBLE IMMIGRATION.
And they are DONE with a federal government that takes them for granted.

Well over 1 million contacts with Albertans, at the doors and online. Decisive results for a strong Alberta within a united Canada.
I want to recognize the incredible leadership of my friend @DaneLloydMP, who envisioned, created, and led the Conservatives for Canada campaign.
Dane has been relentlessly positive in fighting for our province and our country. And that fight continues.
The work building a stronger Alberta and a stronger Canada will continue, tomorrow and every day afterwards.

Of course the same poll showed that 2/3 voting for Option 2 were not actually voting to separate.

Yesterday, I went to Wainwright to show my support for the Canadian Armed Forces Community, First Responders and healthcare staff who stepped up to be there for our men and women in uniform.
On behalf of the people of Parkland, I extend my deepest condolences to those who lost their lives, those who are injured and their families. Our nation prays and mourns with you.
