Key highlights from the visit by the @HFHMalawi team and a delegation from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, led by Director of Housing Wezzi Madzi, to Nanchidwa Model Village in Mulanje.
The visit highlighted significant progress in supporting families affected by Cyclone Freddy. To date, Habitat Malawi has completed 67 disaster-resilient homes for households displaced by the 2023 cyclone and is currently constructing 17 additional homes for families still living in camps as they await permanent resettlement.
The delegation also engaged directly with beneficiaries, listening to their stories and learning firsthand how safe, decent housing is transforming lives and strengthening community resilience.
