This conversation explores what it means to spend eternity as finite, created beings who can continue discovering, growing, and experiencing new things. It also explores how this differs from God’s perfect, complete knowledge.

What if the way we’ve been taught to think about heaven isn’t the biblical picture?
The Bible presents a surprisingly different, richer vision of what awaits believers, one that may completely change how you think about eternity, our future, and what “heaven” really means.
This conversation explores a fascinating perspective that challenges common assumptions and offers a broader, more accurate picture of the Christian hope.

Scripture suggests that the New Earth will feature actual physical cities, led by the New Jerusalem, along with positive societal and administrative structures resembling a refined form of government.
Unlike present human governments, this framework will operate entirely without the need for military forces, police, or mechanisms to restrain sin, as evil will no longer exist. Instead, these structures will function purely to foster loving mutual service, organized through God-ordained levels of authority and responsibility that enable individuals to serve one another effectively.

Evaluating a church's statement of faith when trying to figure out whether to attend is a good start. However, you must know that some NAR churches can hide behind statements that sound biblical.
If a church's doctrinal statement checks out, be sure to evaulate the preaching and teaching as well.

Jack Deere, the pastor and author known for his shift from cessationist theology to the charismatic movement, has publicly admitted he was wrong to promote so-called prophets like Paul Cain, writing, "Although Paul could move in genuine prophetic power, he also faked revelations."
In this clip, Christian magician Terry Holley disagrees with half of that sentence. He explains why he doesn't believe Paul Cain ever had genuine prophetic power. He explains how so-called "prophets" use the same cold-reading tricks mentalists use.
To prove how easy the trick is, Terry shares a story from his own life: he once overheard a stranger's conversation about her sick cat before a service, then "prophesied" that exact detail back to her later that week, just to show her how convincing a trick can look.
Do you think a real prophet would ever need to fake it? Share your thoughts below.

When Christians die, they enter an intermediate state where they are with the Lord and experience joy, peace, and freedom from pain. However, this is not the final state because they are without physical bodies. God’s ultimate purpose is the resurrection of the body, restoring the fullness of human existence in both body and spirit, where believers will experience complete joy.

Sometimes it can be tempting to leave church hunting behind and just start your own home church with a couple of families.
But when everyone is there because they couldn't find perfect doctrinal alignment, differences and personality clashes tend to surface fast, and these groups often don't last.
There are real exceptions, like isolated communities, places under persecution, but, for most of us, a generally sound local church is healthier.

A pastor's sermons can be completely sound, and a church can still have a NAR problem.
Check out the youth classes, the small group curriculum, the guest speakers, and the conferences a church promotes. Bad doctrine often travels through those channels long before it ever reaches the main stage.

I'm concerned about the willingness of some politically conservative Christians to sacrifice biblical truth because their favorite pastor fights against woke, liberal agendas. The recent knee-jerk defense of Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson from legitimate concerns raised by @alisa_childers is a case in point.
I address this more in my recent episode: youtube.com/watch?v=KBVCWdft…
Was Alisa Childers right to warn people about Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson’s teachings on church leadership?
By the time you finish listening to this episode, you’ll not only know whether Alisa’s warning was justified, but you’ll also learn 3 specific markers of dangerous, apostle-style church governance—even when pastors don't explicitly use the word "apostle."
In this episode, I break down the online debate that erupted after Alisa Childers shared a clip from the Resurge podcast, hosted by Josh Howerton (Lakepointe Church) and Josh McPherson (Grace City Church / Stronger Man Nation).
While defenders accuse Alisa of slander, misrepresentation, and "barking up the wrong tree," a closer look at Howerton and McPherson's statements reveals a deeply concerning shift toward New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)-style top-down governance.
Drawing on over two decades of research into the NAR movement and co-authoring four books on the topic, I walk through the original podcast, address recent rebuttals, analyze Howerton's statements on "convening apostles," and show why Alisa’s warnings are fully warranted.

A lot of discerning believers give up on church hunting because they're looking for perfect theology, not generally sound theology.
Heretical doctrine (denying something like the deity of Christ) is a hard no. Aberrant doctrine (like the prosperity gospel or NAR teaching) is a hard no, too.
But beyond that? No pastor, no worship set, no church will ever be flawless. A generally sound church is much better than no church.

Can Christians in a spiritually mismatched marriage preserve their union while keeping a clear conscience before God?
In this episode, Holly explores the tension that occurs in marriages when one spouse is part of the New Apostolic Reformation and the other is not.
She unpacks what a "spiritual mismatch" is through 1 Corinthians 7, where Paul instructs believers who are married to an unbeliever, and she shows how his advice can also apply to those believers who are married to someone in NAR. She also examines conscience and authority through Acts 5:29 and the examples of Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Daniel, concluding that obedience to God comes before human authority, and that marriage vows never require participating in false teaching.

Feeling alone in calling out false teaching is more common than you think. Elijah felt the same way right after one of his biggest victories.
Finding a healthy community can help you stay grounded and grow spiritually.
