The mistake you all make is by assuming College Football fans are only interested in watching their teams if they have a chance to make the playoff.
This isn’t the NFL. CFB fandom runs so much deeper than what your Team’s Record is any given year.
The 24 team playoff has people saying it will cause a drop in TV ratings and fan interest but in reality more fans will be engaged than ever before.
If your team is 8-0 you aren’t going to stop watching and if your team is 5-3 you also aren’t going to stop watching as your team is in the playoff hunt.
There will be 50+ teams with playoff hopes 2/3 of the way through the season.
The current system is actually more likely to cause fans to lose interest and move on from following their team closely.
From here on out, everything Kalen or anyone else on this staff says is complete Yap until proven otherwise.
They just don’t have it man.
Kalen DeBoer's message after loss to Tennessee:
"Moving forward it’s going to be another level of uncomfortable.”

Ryan Grubb, nice person, should invite him soon
Whispers *Kane doesn’t trust our secondary*
Down 9 points, with 14 mins in the 4th, this is the look Alabama consistently gave Tennessee on a 9 min drive where UT iced it. The first play of the drive was an easy 6 yarder to get to 2nd and 4. The play after this image was an 4 yard pass where the DB STILL missed the tackle and it went for 13.
Zero pressure the whole drive. Nothing to stress a young QB. Little press man forcing tough throws. No sending the house or edge pressure. No changing the picture post snap.
Frequently UT had only 2 out wide and Bama still had 4 guys way off the line.
Literally prevent defense down 9 points allowed a 9 minute TD drive to ice it.
Completely indefensible defensive coaching
Fire his ass into the sun.
Alabama's 6 lowest yardage games since 2015 have all come under Kalen DeBoer, including 4 with Ryan Grubb at OC:
193 yards vs. Indiana (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
201 yards at Tennessee (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
209 yards vs. Georgia in SEC CG (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
234 yards at Oklahoma in 2024 (loss) -- Nick Sheridan
260 yards at Oklahoma in CFP (win) -- Ryan Grubb
260 yards vs. Michigan in ReliaQuest Bowl (loss) -- Nick Sheridan
Between 2015-23, lowest yards Alabama posted was 261 against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl in January 2018.

Tenn. QB ain’t threw a pass over 10 yards all day and the DC still got corners playing off. No run game stunts or blitz’s. Not attacking at all just sitting back and waiting for it to happen. This shit so disappointing smh

sure, expand it to 24 teams...
but you'll NEVER take away our memories.
