Hogan Helligso

This is one of those posts you never expect to write. Especially when the student truly becomes the teacher, and not by mere chance. As an instructor, you constantly strive to provide value, pouring your effort into the players, yet you find yourself questioning your own coaching ability, simply because of how exceptional this individual has become. I first met Hogan when he was just 12 years old, and I knew instantly he was destined for something special. I saw his potential to play at a high level, as long as he chose to pursue it. His defensive prowess and incredible throwing arm consistently outshone his offensive contributions. Indeed, you could say he possessed "The Quickest Draw in the Midwest!" There were days I'd subtly challenge him, inconspicuously asking him to try something new, just to gauge his limits. Every single time, he exceeded them. I'd often find myself grinning, knowing that failure was simply not in his vocabulary. A dear friend and mentor of mine always says that a coach's ultimate job is to "eliminate your job." Well, Hogie, working with you, brother, never felt like work at all. It has been an absolute pleasure to have worked alongside you, to watch your journey, to coach you, and to witness just how far you've taken your career. FIELD GENERAL FOR LIFE! @HoganHelligso
