And finally, one of the greatest Western values we share: The ability to be wrong and change your mind - to grow and evolve.
Western values: Free-market free-exchange society (ability to have an idea, create, produce something and sell, buy, trade).
Democracy: accept when you lose and move on; pick yourself up, find a way to push through it - there is a better day ahead.
Western values: Law/jurisprudence based on logic and reason in a system with processes involving due diligence.
Government authority is not absolute, but based on the will and consent of the governed.
Western values: Upward social mobility, especially when knocked down - via opportunity and merit. Creativity, innovation, contribution, productivity. Scientific inquiry.
Civil society with a Right to realizable values.
What Values do we share that are Western? Opportunity to exist, existence of opportunity, individual and universal human rights. Privacy, private property, private relationships. Personal agency, personal autonomy, personal thought. Freedom of speech, expression, press, religion
Could we get another discussion between @GadSaad and @cynthia_farahat that can help further guide us on how to properly engage with noble people such as @Byoussef on @triggerpod 🙏 Konstantin and Francis did one helluva job!

Dear Emergency Medicine colleagues,
When this mess is over, you can all order as many absurd CT scans as you want and I won’t even read the indications before clicking accept.
Keep up the amazing work. You are heroes.

Let’s talk about the fact that both the attack rate and the death rate among the young is indeed very low with COVID19, unlike most prior pandemics. And let’s speculate about some of the biological reasons. 1/

I’m sorry to report that everything crazy I say about our insane leadership class of older leaders is being confirmed.

Why can we not get rid of this cohort of experts & leaders? We need to fire this entire vintage.
As in: all of them.
We aren’t getting the scale yet: it’s an entire 40+ year vintage of interoperable total bullshitters. And this crisis shows that this is correct.
@WHO is wrong.
It is an embarrassing scene. @WHO Director General, Bruce Aylward, hangs up in an interview with RTHK when he is asked about reconsidering Taiwan’s membership. Ironically, despite being so close to China, Taiwan manages to keep the #coronavirus infection and fatality rate low.
